It, like the others, has been renovated, but yea it's old, poorly laid out and in need of a good swift destruction.
Problem is they made those stupid lipstick on a pig renovations less than a decade ago.

Damn, the city of Lexington got screwed on that one.
Most people don't realize that Rupp is a municipal arena, not a part of UK.
But in reality the reason it cost so much , I would bet, is that there was some general contractor in Lexington who schmoozed up city council and made off like a bandit in building that Arena.

Yea, and they've had serious battles about the renovation of it the last few years (and the possibility of mixed-use stuff attached to it if I remember correctly).

They've renovated it about 100 times.

My B, bro. I imagine I won't see much of you around here soon.
Edit: that sounded pretty gay. I'm taken. And not that you're gay or that there is anything wrong with that.

My busiest time is actually late summer because of the clients I work with - fortunately I don't deal with taxes much, so I avoid that mess.
Bro, just glad to have you back. Was having withdrawals. Especially when all you left behind were V&S, Nukeese and Ricky Bobby (JUST KIDDING GUYS BRO HUG).

YOu realize the cost of Rupp includes the Hyatt, shopping center and the Convention Center with the basketball arena. Plus, the amount of revenue that has been generated has easily paid for itself over the years.
ETA: included in the cost was the opera house and Triangle Park.

That makes more sense then - and is also probably why the cost for the Omaha arena is so high.

Man, the board has been rough lately. I feel like that group of VOLS you named is pretty solid and I imagine has carried the fight in my stead. Some good Internet among those names.

Threads fall into a few groups
- idiotic thread by idiot
- thought provoking thread, invaded by idiots, destroyed
- thought provoking thread, only idiots on the board, nobody responds, thread dies
I'm all for a little fun time flaming, but it's so low brow it's not even worth the time.
The Vols definitely have the lowest % of posters that make me wonder if they are mentally disabled or not.

Better re-figure UFs O Dome...which open just a month ago with new interior and the title sponsor is Exact Tech ...its a remodeled brand new state of the art sports venue...please publish that puppy's cost of $ 64 million and add that to the cost in 1980, the brick and mortar shell stayed pretty much except for facade and its on campus with no other non UF sports. The interior was the part really remodeled and seating, locker rooms, meeting rooms changed etc etc.
