Oh it was a promotional deal for adidas no doubt. Just seemed like they could have done something better as a whole than that. It wasn't just terrible, but it made me laugh

That houndstooth jersey collar/hat giveaway at that Ole Miss game in 2006 was the equivalent of an African infected with the Black Plague getting off at LaGuardia and licking everyone.

Honestly, that was like the 8th worst thing that happened that day/year. I had almost totally forgotten about it considering it happened at halftime of the 9-0 loss to Auburn to cap the 3-9 season in a driving sleet/rain storm.
And, it was pre-houndstooth stuff being what it is today, so it didn't seem nearly as embarrassing then. It was goofy and a bit tacky, but it didn't have the same cache it has today.

The #webelieve campaign before playing the Gumps a few years back. Had people sending video from all across the world leading up to that game, saying "#WEBELIEVE". Unfortunately all we did was wake up the sleeping giant known as Bammer.
