Coolest thing I've witnessed wasn't "at the game", but connected to the game. A kid playing for Texas father has a heart attack in Fayetteville. The U of A picks up his medical tab for doctors and hospital and provides the plane to fly him home when he's recovered.

Coolest thing I have seen = LSU tailgate for a night game.

And I want to see that eagle fly at an Auburn game in person. That has got to be pretty damn cool.

At this year's BCS National Champ Game: I made friends with the guy next to me. We would take turns going to get beers and of course everyone was in heaven just because Bama had made it there and we were fortunate enough to make it to the game. Well, Dareus intercepts the shovel pass from Gilbert and takes it to the house and the place just explodes.. I'm high-fiving people, drinks are spilling, it's chaos.. I look to my left and don't see him. I look down, there he is.. he got so excited he passed out. He was fine, and we all had a good laugh.

UA-Florida '05: Wasn't at the game, but Florida's first trip to Tuscaloosa under Urban. Bama wins 31-3 and CBS zooms in on Urban during "Rammer Jammer." The look on his face as he gazed up into the stands was priceless, as if to say, "What have I gotten myself into?"

Same game - I believe Florida played Kentucky the week before and won pretty easily. After Prothro's TD catch Verne says, "There are few truths in an uncertain world, but one thing is for sure... this ain't Kentucky." Not quite on par with his Masters call, "IN YOUR LIFE, have you seen anything like that?" But still a good one.

Fake field goal. Matt Flynn took the snap and tossed it behind his head to the kicker who ran in for a touchdown. LSU vs South Carolina. The coolest thing was watching the face of Steven Spurrier in disbelief.

Back in the 70's and 80's, Arkansas Traveler fans were frequently entertained by this elderly gentleman everyone called "Hook-Slide". Ole Hook-Slide kinda liked to get a bit wasted and he was at every Traveler game. I even picked him up one time and gave him a ride to a game. Well, the crowd would buy him beer and intermittently during the games, patrons sitting in the "drunk section" (that's what we called it) area of the stands would begin chanting, "Hook-Slide, Hook-Slide, Hook-Slide!" We would do this until Ol' Hook-Slide would break down and take an old cardboard beer case or popcorn box which had been flattened, lay it down somewhere in front of the stands, and using it as a base, he would then perform his famous Hook-Slide technique for everyone, as if he were really sliding into base. Everyone would go wild! We all would be cheering, screaming, and chanting "Hook-Slide, Hook-Slide" and giving the signal for "safe!" or "out!", as he slid into base. He was truly great!

ETA:I can't believe it. I found an article about "Hook Slide" Bradshaw.
Walter "Hook Slide" Bradshaw
They even have an Ale named after him. I've been out of touch for a while I guess. He was one of the greatest fans EVER!
Here's an excerpt:
quote:

"At Ray Winder, the Bleacher Creatures were the fans along the third-base line who were really excited and made those games a lot of fun for a number of years," Laven said.

"When the original designs for the new Dickey-Stephens Park came around," Laven said, "the designs didn’t have any bleacher section. We made sure there was that feature on the drawing board, and fortunately we got it."

The official name of the beer garden and accompanying bleachers is Hook Slide Corner. The moniker also speaks of a fabled part of Travelers history.

Walter "Hook Slide" Bradshaw may have been the greatest fan Arkansas baseball ever saw. Hook Slide was a crowd favorite in the 1970s who garnered chant after chant, usually about the third inning, for his namesake, the hook slide.

The hook slide was simply Bradshaw sliding - on concrete, no less - into a popcorn box that served as a makeshift base, while a randomly selected fan was there to call the play "safe" or "out" to the wild cheers of his fan base, which became the entirety of Ray Winder Field.

Sometimes Hook Slide would show off 10-12 times a game, often receiving free beer for his efforts.

Hook Slide died in the mid-1980s, but his legend is a part of his beloved ballclub in its new home.

Can't believe I'm the first person to say this.

Auburn - WVU game this year. Torrential rain and then some amazing plays to pull out the win. Craig Steven's pick six was ****ing nuts. I've never been that drenched outside of being in a pool in my life.

I don't have any experience while actually being at a football game. But for me it was watching George Teague take the ball from Lamar Thomas. This is only because that was the very first football game I have memories of and even at 5 years old I realized then that we would win. Not from being at a game, but because of the circumstances it left a major impression on me. Now the wierdest thing was at a hockey game. Introducing the opposing team and the arena got really quiet and a girl screamed "Y'ALL CAN SUCK MY DICK!!!!" ...definitely the wierdest
