in defense of spears, he was probably given the hardest assignment to pull off and the whole thing was incredibly awkward.

i think that he will be fine in a more relaxed scene, would have hated to start in a saban/lsu reconciliation piece.

i did enjoy hearing that saban thought the bama rings look like tacky ash trays, props to marcus for fishing that out of him.

I thought Booger did fine. Once his playing days are over Ryan Clark would be a natural at this.

It sucks. They could do better. I'm also not looking forward to Paul Finebaum's Alabama radio network.

yeah Ryan Clark was made for the chair. He'll probably be on espn (nfl coverage) or NFL network though.

I didn't see it so I don't know about Spears, seems pretty unanimous that he's terrible though.

Tebow is just bad on TV. He's way too awkward and that will never change.

From what I have seen/heard of McElroy in other interviews he's a sharp guy that can act professional and talk about football. However, like others have said he will always be a smug douche inside to me and I will never like him.

There will be a petition to get him off the SECN. He's said way too many negative things about the SEC and absolutely hates UF. It makes no sense to have him on the SECN.

I like dk and he is on because he gets reactions. Especially from Bama and uf fans.

I really expected to see Palmer on there last night. I'm in the minority here I believe because I like Palmer and prefer him way more than no neck Pollack.

Palmer and pollack are good examples of why we should give the new guys some time to develop. They were both pretty bad when they first started and have consistently gotten better on tv with more experience. I think working with Reese really helped both. Davis is one of the best.

A petition??

If he rustles UF jimmies that's reason enough to keep him around.

I agree. They will get more comfortable the more air time they get. Tebow looked a little stiff and nervous, McElroy seemed a little plastic but did a good job overall. They will loosen up and relax in the next few months.

Did he have a segment outside the Saban one? I didnt watch the whole thing. He was very good in that.

Joe Tessitore is on record saying spears is going to be a superstar. I'm sure he knows what he's talking about. Spears has a huge personality and a ton of charisma. He will be the best new hire more than likely.

to each his own. i thought it was good. i thought the very beginning (first ten seconds when he walked in) was pretty awkward. the interview itself though i thought went well.

Spears was awesome on SEC nation on tuesday as a desk analyst. Don't know why they had him in the field.

Imagine that, a Yankee Mizzou fan enjoying the SECN's choice of a SEC hater for their lineup. Shocking.
