Little deceptive with JD.Only beat 1 top 10 team in his tenure and had losing records vs AU,UT,UF and GT.

He did leave some good talent behind for CMR though.

Well, UG played only 6 conference games per year at that time against the likes of Vandy, UK, MSU, Ole Miss, and UF (which still wasn't very good back then). The only moderately tough team UG regularly played was Auburn, but even they had multiple losing seasons during that era. UG's signature win in that stretch was in 1981 against a Tennessee team that was coming off of a 27-28-1 record in its previous 56 games. I'm pretty sure that most UG fans would admit that Bama was still the best team in the league during the bulk of those years.
