Houston Nutt's Ole Miss teams were so bad, they lost to Derek Dooley. Ole miss was 2-10 and had gotten blown out by Louisiana Tech and Joker Phillips-led Kentucky.

You too V&S
do you think that Butch's problem on Gameday is that he'd rather be MCing the game to 15,000 fans like he does in the spring game? Or do you think it's just that he's a dipshit?
I'll hang up and listen

He's not completely shitty coach, but he's not a very good one. Very Zook-like.

Actually, that's incorrect. Players he recruited at Cincy were drafted. It's only Doolovers who weren't.

It's the Tennessee narrative that keeps the warm at night after Butch fails. No team has ever been as bad off as Tennessee at the end of the Dooley era. shite, Vanderbilt has less talent during a good year.

What narrative is OM dealing with these days?

We had 3 coaches in 5 years, it led to the worst period UT football has ever had. Objectively, we were in a very bad position in terms of talent and stability when CBJ arrived. It's funny you mentioned Vanderbilt. In 2012, the "peak" of our decline, We had the 107th ranked D while Vandy finished with the 19th ranked D. Yes, it was that bad. Pretty much right around where OM is historically

I understand not having anyone drafted after just one season. Maybe even after two. But how do you not develop one guy, even a late rounder, after three years? Guys will be drafted next year, but it seems to reason that talent alone got them there. Not any actual development from the coaching staff.
It goes to show you how low the talent level had dropped under Dooley. Remember, not only did the talent level drop...UT was down to 65 scholarship players in 2010. Butch filled it in with players in the 2013 & 14 class. These are the players you are going to see getting drafted over the next two years.
Saban only had a 1 year drought (2008). Freeze only had a 1 year drought (2013)...but has never had a year where more than one player was drafted until 2016.

Holy shite, Bama fans trying to claim Kamara after one redshirt season. They really will try to claim anything.

Alabama fans claiming Kamara are about as valid as Tennessee fans still blaming Dooley after almost four years. And if you look at Tennessee recruiting rankings going back to 2010, it wasn't about a lack of talent. Tennessee never had a class below 25th in the country.
The problem at Tennessee has been a systemic lack of development from the Dooley years to now, three years into the Butch Jones regime.
Dooley was terrible at Tennessee, but one thing that Dooley never had happen was nobody get drafted onto an NFL team.
Don't give the lack of talent excuse. The recruiting rankings show Tennessee has had top 25 level talent the last 6 years. Something happens from the time these guys get to Knoxville to when they leave. They don't get developed into pro level prospects. That's partly on Dooley, but also partly on the man who has been in charge the last 3+ years, Lyle B. Jones.

I agree with everyone saying that butch should have developed atleast 1 player in 3 years. you can't keep blaming Dooley.

Well, technically, he did, then problem was, the draftable seniors were either injured (Maggitt, could have gone last year, but came back for a senior year), or are facing multiple years in prison (AJ Johnson was a projected 2nd rounder before was accused of rape.)

Butch took over a 5-7 team. Freeze took over a 2-10 team.
