great game today. I thought we had tied it up, that last swing looked headed for center field. spectacular play by the 2nd baseman, and a well deserved series victory for LSU.

Good series. Unfortunately we are playing like a mid tier team right now. Need our bats to wake up.
Posted on 4/15/17 at 5:14 pm to Coater
if our bats ever come alive, ole miss can be dangerous. the pitching staff is good enough to win...I remember the 2008 LSU squad, who also brought in the #1 recruiting class that year. They struggled mightily first half of season, much like the Rebels are now. They were 7-11 in conference play after 6 weeks, bats got hot and rolled to a conference championship at 19-11 and went to the CWS. won it all the next year in 2009...im till hoping for something close to similar from this team, but it may be wishful thinking.

You guys have a spectacular staff, if Ole Miss can get the bats going (much like LSU) it's a team that can make a run in the SEC tournament.
Edit: When Kessinger and Dillard start hitting watch out.

Easy work eh? You are in for a wake-up call/rude awakening to say the least. I really hope you think it will be a cakewalk when LSU plays yall at dudy noble trailerpark. This LSU team is continuing to improve week by week, especially on the mound. On the flip-side, if things go bad for manieri, don't be surprised if LSU comes after andy cannizaro here pretty soon. He would jump at the opportunity to leave miss st and coach at LSU...you know it and I know it. Everybody knows it. Geaux tigers.

Typical arrogant lsu baseball fan assumption.
Sure he may leave, but AC wants to build his own legacy/program..and would likely not be interested in the lsu job even with being from south La and being on staff for a couple of seasons( per personal conversation). His ball clubs will be playing in the nicest college baseball park in the country once construction is complete in 2018/2019.
That in itself is a major recruiting tool, not to mention our baseball history, fanaticism and program support. Msu baseball doesn't have the national title hardware obviously so save the 6 NC's remarks but Andy knows he can win titles in Starkville. Just look at what he's done 2months into this season. He's coach of the year at this point and it's not close.
Money will be no issue. We can match or exceed any salary Lsu is willing to offer.

Not every LSU fan feels this way. To me, AC is a Tulane player first & foremost. Forget his 2 yrs at LSU, when compared to LSU, his blood runs Tulane blue & green. He's the Will Clark of tulane. He has no real ties, in comparison, to LSU. As well, he only has, as of this wkend, approx. 2.5 years of college baseball experience, .5 of that as a HC. He's a good recruiter, obviously, but being honest, how much of his success in recruiting for LSU came from the LSU on his shirts?

LSU and MSU have the same number of letters on the shirt. We'll see.

Going to have to score more than 2 runs to beat State

After the Thursday night game it became a tight and fun series. Rebels just have a few guys hitting over .300 but their Pitching held them together.
SS Kessenger is he a legacy? I realize his defense is probably top notch but .160 batting average? Should DH for him and allow the pitchers to hit

I'm not being arrogant...we are just a better program than state, lol. My point was that if we wanted andy, we could get him. It's not knock against state but we would outbid yall if we wanted him. No offense, but when comparing the two programs at lsu and state, it's really not close. That goes for the entire athletic department as well. If LSU really wanted dan mullen and ben howland we could take them from state as well. LSU is the gold standard in baseball. Don't get all upset, it is what it is.
