I can't easily post quotes on my phone, but your entire (10+ post now???) rant has been crying foul about ANY perceived goodwill out of this story.

And you keep mentioning that people are mad that you are right. Right about what exactly? Everyone in this thread I think understands that Saban wouldn't allow this to happen if it counted against schollies. You even quoted me as saying this! Yet you still think you are offering some keen insight on this issue that others are missing. You are arguing with entities that do not exist on this thread like a crazy person.

If everyone gets it, just like I do, Y U so mad?

You think about that and get back with me.

He didn't pull anybody's offer, dumbass. He offered a greyshirt which would have delayed his entering on schollie for a year. He couldn't play for a year anyway, because of his injury, so he could have come into the program with an opportunity to play from the start. The kid considered it, but declined the offer.

Because you are seriously acting like a dolt and that is annoying.

Why don't you try to think about this a bit more and rehash once again all of the nuances of this complex issue that are apparently flying over everyone's else's heads here. Because to me, it looks like everyone here has taken this story for what it is, yet there is an annoying kid in the corner screaming for attention that makes rational discourse impossible.

So you agree that Saban only did this to help Alabama and that helping Shaw was great, but completely superfluous to his ultimate goal.

Great! Glad we all agree.

Screams louder. Must scream louder!!!

I'm just going to leave this thread with a question and a follow up.

1) Do you see anyone on this thread who implies that there are zero concrete benefits for Alabama in doing this good deed?

Since I'm pretty sure your answer to question #1 is no, then:

2) Who exactly have you been arguing with over all these posts?

Umm, nice try but you're asking the wrong question. Here's the right question:

Do you see anyone in this thread implying that Saban did it for the sole purpose of helping Alabama and, if it didn't help Alabama he wouldn't have done it?

Let me answer for you: That would be me.

As to who I've been arguing with - no one. I've just been stating the obvious. And when you are as right as I am on this one, there really is no argument.

I have, however, come across at least one starry-eyed, possibly naive but definitely sensitive Alabama fan.

Football programs do a lot of good that gets overlooked. Think what you will of the coach and the program, but this is class

Only because it didn't count against him.
Several years ago Miles recruited a DB named Breaux, his brother played at Ole Miss. He hurt his neck his senior yr after committing to LSU.
He still ended up signing with LSU, not a medical deal either. He counted against LSU class that year.

well to be fair, it wasn't ruled out that Breaux might play again at the time. He was expected to eventually be cleared to play
