Which is a bullshite cop out because he can't make a single decision on a final coaching move without the board'w approval.
Agreed. Again, I hope Bjork is sitting in some very long, uncomfortable meetings today, and that we get some type of explanation on what actually took place. Although it’ll prob just be spin anyway.
I don’t think he should retain his job though, based on what happened. And the Sexton angle/shadiness is a whole other rabbit hole.

I think Stoops didn't want to whore out his services like the rest of the college football grifters and told Bjork to eat a big Aggy arse.
And you are using the AD as the fall guy as to not look as any desperate as you already are.
That's what me thinks.

Yep, fanbase has been kinda split on his approval over the years but lately seems to be trending towards an unfavorable position. He may be looking for a new job before too long as well.

I'd be more concerned if we had warring factions of donors that made the ADs job impossible. But by all accounts that's not what we have. The donors, university admin, and fans were all pretty much in lockstep in wanting Elko, or at least being ok with Elko. And Bjork ignored it all, and tried to force his own personal preference in a public manner, without even trying to get other stakeholders on board. That's primarily an AD failure IMO.
My only thought on this is that one has to assume Bjork is not an idiot. Yeah we all like to play armchair AD and laugh at them, but these individuals don't get to that level without [sorta] knowing what they're doing. The steps or missteps of the A&M football program in the past 4 or 5 years point to him being in a position where he cannot actually do his job, which as you stated, is to get the admin and boosters on the same page. He reminds me more of Roger Goodell, who is a mouthpiece for NFL owners - he is their employee. Bjork, much like Goodell, seems like he does the bidding of the boosters.
If he was getting them on the same page via leadership, then that extension for Fisher would be squarely on him and he should've been canned after last season. Him NOT being fired means someone else was pulling those strings.
Makes me think of the owner of the NFL team in Dallas. Crazy-rabid fanbase, incredible facilities...but winning isn't the goal. Money is the goal, winning is secondary. Winning only becomes primary when it affects the money. Which A&M big-money booster fits this allegory?

The problem is of course (as always) that aggy has unrealistic expectations.

Anyone that fat I have reservations on the energy needed for sustainable success.

Pretty underwhelming hire, especially when you paid $75 million just to make the switch.

Bjork should've been gone with Jimbo.
