Lester doesn't, but go ahead and think he does, he'll pick off Murray twice if UGA tries throwing a few lobs his way.

This game we come down to line play and Murray's ability to get the ball out before pressure. Our OL must protect Murray and our DL must somewhat contain the run and not get hammered like LSU 2nd half last year. IMO it all comes down to this.

Of the two games I've seen Bama play (LSU and TAMU) I would say the Bama DL and Bama Secondary is not what they were.

UGA wasn't real impressive the two games I saw them play, USCe & UF.

The pieces add up good for Bama, imo

Bama does seem to have enough advantages to win. Haven't seen Georgia secondary enough but Bama does have some weakness here. Can Georgia exploit the secondary? Not sure.

The thing that I don't like about Bama this season is that they don't seem to have a true offensive identity. Seems like you guys have the line and the backs to run with power all the time but for whatever reason, you guys throw when you don't need to. If not successful on a pass, you have to throw again and end up moving away from what you guys do best... power running. Don't see why Bama is ever throwing on 2 out 3 offensive plays in a series. Yet you do it.

Bama has their hands full with Georgia.

If UGA figures out how to attack the edge, they will have a nice chance.

IMO when georgia establishes the run they are as hard to beat as anyone in the nation. take pressure off of murray and open up the PA pass which has been richtard's bread and butter for what feels like his entire career. without the run, though, i fear for murrays livelihood

Yeah, the trenches will determine this one. Bama's OL should dominate UGA's DL though. We pushed around Mingo/Montgomery/Downs/Logan/Freak/Edwards in the running game, and only gave up one sack I think. We've looked good against elite talent, and the WKU player that did good against us and made everyone talk shite about our line has gone on to be one of the nation's top pass rushers.

With that said, expect Saban and Smart to have some blitzes that we haven't even used this season hiding up his sleeve.

Very good observation. Now, this is Bama's passing offense in a long, long time so I understand the urge to throw the ball a good bit. But neglecting the running game most definitely led to offensive struggles against LSU and A&M.

Also IMO,

QB - push
RB - push

Gurley will be the better back IMO and will have the most yards.

Interesting... would have thought they would have used every blitz they had and then some vs A&M given the importance of the game at the time to Bama's NC hopes.

Yeah, we pushed LSU's DL around in the run game all night, we just refused to pound it because of stupid play calling. If we can do that against UGA, particuarly off of the B and C gaps, it's game over. Jones can handle Jenkins, and if he can't then he and Warmack together can. We can run away from Jones, or hit you with counters. We probably won't have insane rushing numbers due to a refusal to just pound it, but we should be averaging 4 or 5 yards a pop.

Maybe. Lacy and Yeldon will probably share carries a lot closer than Gurley/Marshall will, but as a team I think we rush for more yards.

UGA coaches say they are working on different offensive looks for this game, to counter the fact that Saban is going to be giving alot of different defensive looks for Murray, and in my conversations with people more educated than me, it's going to come down to Murray finding out if he has what it takes to be NFL material or if he's just really good at stacking up numbers on cupcakes.

The other point for Bama is special teams, UGA struggles there. This will be a chance for our kicker Morgan to redeem himself for some missed FG's earlier this season.. a "zero to hero" chance.

When it comes do Bama's D, and nearly a superfluous conversation because there's no telling how Saban is going to line up, if they run the 3-4 they can close Gurley's gaps but Marshall is a speedy back that can get outside faster than any Bama linebacker, and if the safeties sucker up on that threat then Murray will have some big plays.

Doesn't do you any good to blitz JFF. We mush rushed horribly against him. When we pass rushed he scrambled, but when we mush rushed we didn't finish off and force him to make a quick decision, we have him way too much time to throw the ball.

You haven't seen Hubbard set the edge, have you? By the time DAT got around him CJ Mosley would be right there to knock him on his arse. Now Marshall isn't quite as fast as Thomas, is he? I do expect Marshall to run sweeps though. Gurley will probably get the load imo.

I think the wildcard will actually be Jay Rome strangely enough. The kid will sometimes run the wrong route or not run a sharp route, but he has great hands, and will be a nightmare of a matchup for the middle of the Bama defense. He is very much under the radar. I am not sure that any WR in this game is really a true standout must-double-team-him type guy. If Damian Swann plays as well as he has the second half of the year (and this is really his first year of significant playing time), then I think you will see similar blitz schemes that Georgia employed to such great effect against UF. If UGA OL can run block consistently, then the UGA O should click nicely. I have also liked the Beard at LT and Gates at LG combo a bit better than Gates at LT like it was at the beginning of the year. Xander Ogletree has been a very nice surprise with both blocking and catching the ball. I think both teams will score their points. It will likely come down to turnovers.

you may be able to nullify big john, smith, and washington but that isn't the issue because your OL will be hard pressed to keep 'tree out of there.

and barret jones isn't gonna handle big john either. maybe hold his ground but this dominating nonsense is just that, nonsense
