Well Saturday was like getting kicked in the Jimmy by a mule. The one thing I took away from it was that if you make a mistake, TAMU can and will make you pay for the mistake. If you play sound assignment football they are extremely beatable. Our safety picked a couple of very bad times to bite on a fake and Ellis our Linebacker still thinks they are handing the ball off in OT.

Also why we have a highly recruited Kicker from TX Redshirted and playing a walk on I dont know. But he missed the net, not the FG he missed the freaking net....

We also don't do that many penalities per game. Very out of character from a team last year that led the SEC in the least amount of penalties. Bielema teams don't usually have a lot of penalties.

Did the Aggie defense bring as much effort against Rice as they did Arkansas?

Ags offense was out of sync early on. Kenny Hill or the RB went the wrong way on consecutive plays. Dropped passes, throws behind receivers... was a mess. These were self inflicted.

IMO this was the result of playing shitty competition for 3 weeks in a row. For those of us that watched Rice, Lamar, and SMU, we saw the mistakes but figured we just weren't excited about the game, were playing everyone on the bench, etc... These were basically practice games. As the saying goes.. "you practice how you play".

On top of this, Arkansas had a very good defensve scheme and they dared us to run. We want to run off the passing game, not pass off the running game. We dodged a bullet with a very physical Arkansas team.

Coaching flaw on your part. Coaches said in post game they saw what you were lined up in and knew we coudl run the play perfectly.

We got out coached for 3 quarters, I admit that. No matter who screwed the punt D up, it took some balls to call for the fake punt on 4th and 10 at midfield. Hats off to Hogs for pulling the trigger on that.

You make a decent point but I think you neglect the fact that A&M was by far playing its worst football of the year. Drops, penalties, busted plays etc. which are not typical of a Kevin Sumlin coached team.

Had we have been playing our A game, I don't think the game would have been a nail biter to the end. However, you guys are getting there and I already don't look forward to next years game.

And we don't fumble snaps and negate TDs with stupid penalties. It all evened out.

Comparing Rice vs ArkansasFrom what I am seeing out of Arky, it looks like Bert will turn the ship around They look as good as anyone with their starters, but they don't have the depth to hang for 4 quarters against the elite teams, not this year I will be surprised if they don't pick up 2 conference wins and a bowl based on what I have seen so far Next year will be better and 2016 SHOULD have them competitive for the west

I concur. You need more "big uglies" if you wanna pound it 4 quarters. They'll get them along with more quality on defense.

Arkansas may eventually get the depth to be competitive but they'll never win it all with BB. He's a horrible gameday coach.

i'm very happy with our improvement in one year- and much more positive about the future than i would be with methusalah at the helm.

Do you really wanna talk about 'self inflicted'?

One TD and a 1st and goal on the 2 called back for pointless penalties that had no bearing on the plays.

A field goal that most of us could have kicked better as we redshirt a kicker.

Dropped snaps while trying to get a freshman center ready to go.

Bottom line...make all the fun of Bert you want to...he's thinking about next year and you know its coming.

We also have girls for cheeleaders. It is a plus you might look into at ATM. :)

The gump is strong in this one. We should consider training him to be a Bama fan.

You replied to the wrong person. We had some self inflicted issues early in the game and on top of that, our offense was out of sync because of the D.

I didn't make fun of Bert at all. Like I said, Arkansas coaches had a very good defensive scheme for us.

Not all Ags on this board are trying to flame Hogs.

The busted plays the last two years have all been by design?

That's what I am saying . At Houston you saw busted plays and while at A&M so far we've seen them.

and had we played our A game you would not have been close. Both teams made plenty of mistakes

I'm guessing he means busted offensive plays, such as where Kenny turns left to hand off while Trey Williams goes to the QB's right side to take the handoff.

We didn't execute well at all in the first half.

We got better in the second, particularly the 4th quarter and overtime.

But despite poor offensive execution for the majority of the game, we still rolled up 35 pts and 523 yards. I'll take that for a true soph QB starting his 5th game, and an OC calling plays for just his 6th.

The big takeaway to me was Arkansas' ability to hold the Aggie offense in check for 3 quarters. Not shut it down, but certainly hold it in check.
They supplied about 50 minutes of gold for the other coaches in the division.

so the other coaches gameplan is to hope for A&M WRs to drop passes and for Kenny Hill to be inaccurate for a half?

While your WR's did drop passes Arkansas def made its own mistakes as well. 2 TD's getting called back hurts against any opponent. The Arkansas DBs also were ball hawks for most of the day and knocked away a bunch of throws and made good plays.
