Not many fans of SEC basketball realize how good A&M is going to be this year. I like it that way.

It's not just him. As you mentioned we lose our 3 point specialist and one of our best defenders Notice. We also lost our 2nd leading scorer Dozier. Quite frankly, it is great that we made our run when we did.

Kept our 2 post players though.

Where do South Carolina fans expect to be compared to last year after losing Thornwell and Notice?

I think we will be a bubble team if we aren't solidly in the tournament. We lose a lot with Dozier, Thornwell, and Notice but we have young talent. All depends on how they improved over the offseason.

Definitely not a final four team

I look for Silva and Felder to have big years.

I didn't realize that Dozier left too, that sucks. Will Silva be the focal point this year?

A&M is going to be good this year.

So is Mizzou.

UK, Arky and UF will battle it out for first place in the SEC with Alabama as a dark horse, due to their incoming talent.

Jon Rothstein, a CBB insider/ analyst for CBS Sports said Jared Harper is the best returning PG in the SEC
Which was dumb as frick. Chiozza, Barford, LaChance, Terrence Phillips, and arguably Lamar Peters and Breein Tyree (this one's a stretch but Tyree has better upside) are all better than Harper

And I'd bet on "new" PGs like Quade Green, Colin Sexton, and JJ Caldwell being better than Harper

Felt like he got bad advice or something. Went undrafted but did get picked up by the Lakers. He needed another year to improve

If Jontay reclassifies, we will have two 5* and four 4* in addition to two returning starters that averaged double digits last year. We also have one of the best 3 point shooters in CBB coming in as a transfer.

You guys are fricked.

Your statement is the only thing dumb as frick here.

Harper is a better scorer than literally every single returning guy you mentioned.

Chiozza and Tyree averaged 6 and 7 ppg.
Phillips? Are you joking? He's a complete scrub. You just lost every bit of credibility.

Did you watch Auburn play at all except the one game vs Florida?
I'm not sure you watched any basketball at all, period, saying something dumb like that tbh.

Do you know what the word "returning" means?

Dozier wasn't ever going to improve his stock. His knee was always going to be medically flagged. Unfortunately, the NBA doesn't value upperclassmen. Pj would've been drafted in the 2nd round but opted to go the FA route.

The team will look very different. The guards will be smaller so you can expect less zone defense. Silva figures to be a dominant low post player offensively and defensively. The guards are significantly better three point shooters and then add in Haase, this team should be a big threat from three point range. It's hard to predict at this point, but I think we will be s tournament team.

I did say Tyree was a stretch

Chiozza averaged 7 points playing 22 minutes a game on an Elite Eight team. Harper is a better scorer than Chiozza for sure but Chiozza is an elite passer and top-tier defender. I doubt there's a coach in the country that would take Harper over Chiozza

And Phillips isn't a scrub. He's a better passer and defender than Harper. If you want to penalize him for being on a bad team, go for it, but remember that Missouri beat Auburn on Wednesday

I watched a bunch of Auburn games. Harper might be the best returning scoring PG (actually, no, that'd be Barford or LaChance) but he's definitely not the best returning PG

Harper could use some work on defense, but he's just fine as a passer. Harper is a perfect fit for Pearls system, and we picked up Davion Mitchell who is a good defender.

And that's great about Mizzou, but we also beat then twice.

You really ought to leave the evaluations to the professionals.
You're speaking like you have a personal grudge anyway.

Harper isn't a bad passer. But Chiozza and Phillips are really good passers

Assist % last year:

Phillips -- 33.6%
Chiozza -- 30.8%
Harper -- 23.1%

No grudge. I think Harper is a good player. But he's not better than Chiozza, Barford, LaChance, or Phillips right now. That's not an insult to him; those are all good players.

And Rothstein is a journalist, not a scout. He's a hype man, Dickie V if he was less obnoxious and Twitter savvy.

And the point about Green, Sexton, and Caldwell was that a lot of SEC teams have new PGs (some really hyped up) so being the best "returning" PG doesn't mean much anyways
