Alabama and LSU are usually about even in talent and Coach Saban has won most of those games.

There's well over 10 for the others, so you're still wrong.

Yeah.... Bama fans cannot add. We'll exclude Bear Bryant for purposes of counting the nattys compared to Saban. This list also could be much longer with other coaches that won national championships and had better bowl records than Saban.

Phillip Fulmer 1
Gene Chizik 1
Steve Spurrier 1
Les Miles 1
Urban Meyer 2
Lou Holtz 1
Pete Carroll 2
Jimbo Fisher 1

10 right there..... try again Gumps.

ETA: Based the Lou Holtz one on another poster's comment. Always check your sources. I forgot he only won one.

Miami, not auburn were the 1983 national champs.

As Yogi Berra used to say "You can look it up."

To be fair, I think one should look at the quality of Bowl opponent.

Holtz won 2? He only won in 89. Where was the other?

OK,but define quality. 2012- Notre Dame,if memory served was ranked #1 when we played them. It was no contest. So were they really #1 and we just played a great game,or were we really #1 and showed them they were not #1? Or did Manti Taeos girlfriend steal the spotlights

1983 AU is not the gold standard for difficult national champion schedules considering they didn't win a national championship.

2009 Bama and 2012 Bama beat every team that finished in the top 5 except 2. Big whoop. In fact, 2012 Bama played as many as 1983 Auburn (#4 ND, T-#5 Georgia, T-#5 A&M). What were you saying about gold standard?

I would still call that quality. Over rated maybe but still quality. I was commenting on all the coaches listed with their bowl avergages --- how many of those came from things like Independence Bowl wins?
