Stoops seat will get pretty hot if he doesn't make a bowl game next season.

les miles ain't even close to being fired. no matter what you think you heard or saw last year.

So that was all just internet fodder we heard/read last year? And the media grabbed a hold to the internet rumors and ran with it to the point of the TV announcers enhancing the drama that culminated in the swell of support for Miles from the LSU fans + the Louisiana Governor in the wake to the aTm game?

I think the fact all that happened and he still kept his job last year reinforces the likelihood his job is safe. I don't think the current administration has the balls to fire him basically

Gus will have a good yesr this year but not win a tile of any sort but hopefully get an extension.

Sumlin is in trouble, it's gonna take a hell of a lot more than Trevor Knight to save him.

Sumlin and Malzahn both look to be in real trouble. I think one of them is very likely to be out.

LSU probably won't make a move unless they collapse again like they did in 2015. Also LSU needs a new AD before they hire a new football coach anyway.

Bert isn't on the hot seat. He won't be next year either unless we miss a bowl, given how much of the offense he's having to replace.

An LSU fan said that . Mullen has 0% chance of losing his job. He took a dumpster of a program to a #1 ranking and a birth in the orange bowl. He took a team to 6 straight bowls. He recruited and developed the best player that ever came thru the program.

1. Mason (Dude has flat out sucked, 2-14 in SEC)
2. Sumlin (Needs a good year from Knight to be saved, right back to starting a freshman at QB in 2017 probably)
3. Stoops (Must make a bowl game, period)
4. Malzahn (Show some life, should be safe if they go 8-4 + bowl win)
5. Miles (Was almost canned last year but with the team this year would have to likely have to go 9-4 or worse to be fired...going to be a tough job to pull that off with the talent returned)

Forgot Bert and Butch in here. I'd put then 6 and 7 respectively.

Bert just needs to not Bert it up badly and get to a bowl game at minimum. Should be no problem, but with him you cant even pencil in games like Louisiana Tech as auto-W's. Then agin, he could lose to Louisiana Tech then beat LSU, Ole Miss, etc... later in year.

Butch probably would have to miss a bowl game as well to be fired, but his team is so good in a very weak East. If he doesnt win the East the sharks will START to circle but he'd absolutely get another year with a bowl game season.

Malzahn has been riding the Kick Six for two years now, but I think that little engine will be out of steam if they stink up the place again this year.

What would be a bad season: 5+ losses in regular season
How likely it is: about 50%
Chances he would be fired if that happened: about 60%
Overall chance of getting fired: .50 x .60 = .30 = 30%

Sumlin probably deserves to be let go if he has another bad year, but A&M is used to underperforming so he probably won't be.

What would be a bad season: 5+ losses overall
How likely it is: about 70%
Chances he would be fired if that happened: about 40%
Overall chance of getting fired: .70 x .40 = .28 = 28%

Jones keeps selling hope for the future, but I think Vol nation is getting tired of waiting. His talent is there and the East seems eminently winnable this year. It's now or never. The scandals and lawsuits provide a convenient excuse if they need one.

What would be a bad season: 3+ regular season losses (including Florida) AND no East title
How likely it is: about 50%
Chances he would be fired if that happened: about 50%
Overall chance of getting fired: .50 x .50 = .25 = 25%

Miles doesn't have to win the SEC or the CFP to keep his job, but it would really help him if he could avoid any other losses besides the Alabama game. I think he gets fired if there's another inexcusable and complete collapse like last November when, for no good reason and with everything to play for, the team didn't bother to show up for any of the games and then, even more ridiculously, carried him off the field after the pillow fight with Aggy High like it was some kind of vindication for him and/or them. That won't fly again.

What would be a bad season: 3+ losses in regular season
How likely it is: about 40%
Chances he would be fired if that happened: about 60%
Overall chance of getting fired: .40 x .60 = .24 = 24%

Nobody else is in enough danger even to bother talking about. Bert has beaten LSU twice in a row, so that buys him at least 5-10 years. Mullen has done as well as anyone could at MSU. Freeze has done well enough and knows enough dirt that Ole Miss couldn't get rid of him if they wanted to, which they don't. It's too early for Mizzou, USC, UGa or Florida to think about making a move regardless of what happens this year. Vandy and Kentucky don't care. And Saban, of course, is Saban.

Sumlin isn't going anywhere.

He has a better record than the previous HC's and is friends with the shotcallers.

You dumbasses ought to take Sumlin off your list.

You really ought to hope he does. He's proven he doesn't know how to lead and that he's not the guy to get yall where yall want to go. Get em out and throw the bank at Herman.

Stoops is starting to run out of room to dance I think. Two years in a row Kentucky started strong and then collapsed. He has recruited fairly well, but this is the what have you done for me lately year.

If he doesn't make a bowl game this year then I think he's let go. And he should be. With the talent in their backyard Kentucky should be a bowl team that has some years they look really good.

Bert has a free year since we are replacing a lot of talent... but it is a tricky free year. The schedule starts off tough and that is Bert's weakest point. Arkansas has a lot of offensive talent, but it will probably take a few games to get going.

The Hogs should be, once again, a nightmare at the end of the season but sooner or later we aren't going to be able to win 5 out of our last 7. If Bert misses a bowl game next year, and the schedule is tough enough that he might, then his seat is glowing white hot.

Know how I know that you're retarded? Because you try to base your prediction of how our season will go off of a damn spring game.

Sumlin will be fired if he has the exact same season Les Miles had in 2015

He needs to win 9 and a bowl to get another year

Butch Jones seat is about like Malzahn's. Brick by brick is a great catchphrase, b/c you don't have to commit to a timeline for completion.

Record by year

Malzahn: 12-2, 8-5, 7-6
Jones: 5-7, 7-5, 9-4

One team has been trending up and is the favorite* to win their division this season, one isn't

*I realize preseason predictions are useless at this point

I still believe in Sumlin if he can get back to 10 wins

He's made some good hires in Chavis and Noel, I'm hopeful it plays out well

But if not, I'm not really sure who would be a good get. But I do know that I think Herman is no more headed for success at a high level than Muschump.

Butch should be ok, but Tennessee needs to win the East this year or it could start getting ugly there.
