(1) They coached at Clemson
(2) They graduated from Alabama

Frank Howard
* Guard, 1928-1930, Alabama
* HC, 1931-1969, Clemson : 165-118-12, 8 Conference Titles, 6 bowl games

Danny Ford
Tackle, 1967-1969, Alabama
HC, 1978-1989, Clemson : 96-29-4, 5 Conference Titles, 8 Bowl Games, 1 National Title

Dabo Swinney
WR, 1990-1992, Alabama
HC, 2008-2015, Clemson : 75-26, 2 Conference Titles, 8 Bowl Games

Alabama graduates account for % of Clemson Football (including Pell & Ingram)

- 76% of conference championships (16/21)

And all of them in the modern era, mostly.

From 1940 - 2015 (76 years), the head coach at Clemson was an Alabama graduate every year except from 1973-1976 and 1990-2008. So, since WW2 an Alabama graduate has been the head coach at Clemson for 44/76 years? That's crazy.

Only Alabama, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss did that from the SEC that year.
