UGAs problem isnt recruiting. Its coaching. I agree 100% with scarlet fire. You cant just recruit top 10 and expect that to be enough. You have to have great coaches. Dabo Swinney isnt a great X's and O's guy but he gets really good coordinators around him. Dabo does the recruiting and cheerleading and the coordinators and coaches do a nice job coaching up the talent.

Smart (unproven coach) hired Chaney (extremely mediocre) and Mel Tucker (meh) and got a mediocre season.

Im not convinced Smart is going to do any better than Richt at coaching up the talent.

I guess we just have to pray we will catch lightning in a bottle at some point like Tech has with Paul Johnson.

Not really but your dumbass AD can make it a little easier by not counting on or hoping that a DC (which historically dont pan out as HC's) can learn on the job and butt fumble his way to the top.

Nothing. His recruiting is no different from Richts. Youll end up with a top 10 class and finished 3rd in the East.

He talked his best 2 rb's into coming back and is doing great in recruiting. Seems like he is doing fine to me.

Im not knocking his recruiting. Im knocking his coaching. All 4 of those did awesome in the 7-5 year and not one of them all SEC 1st or 2nd team. Why is it so hard for you all to see past the stars and talent to the results or lack thereof on the field?

Why does it bother you?

Go talk about coaching up talent on a Nerd board.

I think it bothers him because he knows GT will be stuck in mediocre mode as long as they have a coach that runs a 70's style offense. He see's UGA making solid moves to Championship caliber teams while his team peaks at what? 8 or 9 wins in a season?

That STILL doesn't mean recruiting was the issue. Sounds like you are the dumbass

Go look back at our OL, WR, and DB recruiting and prove recruiting was not an issue for this year.

You're the 6th most talented team IN THE COUNTRY this year according to 247, which is pretty widely accepted as the industry standard.

Same goes with the 247 roster composite that ignores the dispersement of experience and talent across all positions, which are huge flaws that cannot be ignored. Most of our top talent was either very young or at the same position. Thats not a good combo.

didn't you have an AD paying like 3 FORMER coaches at one time, in addition to the current ones?

Have you not seen our OL recruiting this year? Its very different from Richt. We also got ourselves a much better QB prospect than Richt had us set up with.

Exactly.

We could have the 20th ranked recruiting class 3 years in a row, then in the 4th year sign 15 5* and be one of the 3 "most talented teams in the country" but that's extremely misleading as the chances of competing for any real hardware would be pretty slim considering they'd all be true freshmen.

UGA was gonna struggle in 2016 with or without Richt. Glad we are replacing the 2013 class with the 2017 class. Its a big talent infusion.

Again. You lack substance in your posts.

And you reek of a troll with an agenda.

Where is Christopher? He's gotta keep the noob nerds in line and with some sense of reality to make their troll attempts at a higher standard.

Just like Richt?

#UGA currently has 2,642 points in the @Rivals team rankings. That is the highest total in last 16 yrs & it's only Dec. Will add more soon.

If you build the line, it will come. That is what ole Saint Richt could never aspire to with his "perennial top 10 classes".

5* T Isaiah Wilson 6-7 350.
4* T Andrew Thomas 6-5 310.
4* T D'Marcus Hayes 6-6 320.
4* T D'Antne Demery 6-6 320.

4* G Ben Cleveland 6-6 340.
4* G Netori Johnson 6-4 350.
3* G Solomon Kindley 6-4 335.
3* G Justin Shaffaer 6-5 350.
