Florida vs Kentucky would be pushed to remain. Florida has played UK more times in football then FSU.
Doesn't seem like much of a rivalry though
To keep Florida vs Kentucky then, could swap out FL-SC and UK-Mizzou and replace with FL-UK and SC-Mizzou

Move them to the East and go 6-2-1 9 game conference schedule. 6 divisional, 2 cross over permanent, and 1 rotate.
BAMA would keep TSIO and IB as permanent cross over games.

Always can do some tweaking to it. Just trying to make an example that its possible to keep just about all of the major rivalry games playing every year, but make the conference scheduling as balanced as possible. If divisions ever were eliminated, then at the current 14 school and 8 SEC game schedule, 3 rivalry games is ideal because then it leaves 10 other schools to play and the scheduling would be fairly simple. 5 one year, other 5 the following year...alternating home and away.

Everyone keeps talking about the 9 game conference schedule.
Nobody is talking about have some teams getting to play 5 home games with others only having 4 home games and how that is inherently unfair.
That's a bigger problem to be sorted out if you ask me.

It would even out every other year when teams have 4 home games one year and 5 the next. But I like the current 8 games. I think if SEC went to 9 games, it may jeopardize some big non-conference rivalry games and may deter teams from scheduling higher quality non-conference games in home-and-home or neutral site games. For instance, LSU currently has future home-and-home's scheduled with Texas, Oklahoma, and UCLA. Would they have scheduled those types of games if there was a 9 game SEC schedule and 1 extra road game every other year? Or would they have been content to schedule all 3 non-conference games vs lesser competition that would come to Baton Rouge without getting a home game in return?

If teams has set rosters and set schedules every year, I'd buy that answer. The problem with that argument is that teams peak at different times. What happens when your best team in years, or decades happens to be one that that to play 5 away games?
It needs to be fair for everyone, every year.

I like it in theory, but with the current state of the East, it would get old seeing the Iron Bowl in consecutive weeks.

Again move Alabama to the east as well. Problem solved.

Bama, I understand.
Florida - UGA - UT felt it would be harder for them to get to the SEC championship game, they were cowards.
