The truth is that you, like many others, are a pure sports fan. To say that you admire and enjoy watching the icons of different sports perform means that you appreciate the sport itself, not just a particular team/person that plays it. I'm much the same way.

There are tons of people like you and I generally find it annoying.

While I will root for a winner if a record is on the line or we're going for history, being a fan of some dominant championship winning entity just doesn't appeal to me at all. Plus, the group that does that usually contains the dumbest fans of those respective sports.

do you actually take joy or pride in that though? I mean, 10 years from now will you tell people "yep, I was watching live when LSU won another national title. Boy it sure was something"?

This is the perfect example of the difference between the person who just likes his/her team, and the person who not only likes their particular team, BUT likes the sport itself.

If he simply loves the sport, shouldn't be just be cheering for great games and a fun tournament regardless of which teams win?

I was rooting for American Pharaoh to break its leg on the final stretch of the Belmont, like a true fan of horse racing.

Why can't I pull for great entertaining games but want one team to lose?

How is that any different than pulling for great entertaining games and wanting one team to win?

I hope you're being factitious here The point is to enjoy and admire an elite team/person preform when you actually don't have a particular favorite involved.

Very, very sad.

Typical Aggie behavior. They prefer men and being little brother to someone. Apparently since they dodge the tea sippers they now crave corndogs.

Underdogs aren't special?

I don't understand people like you, not sure if that makes me better or worse or just different but I just don't get it.

That said, I'll be fine with LSU winning- I won't root against them unless we end up playing them. I'm just not going to cheer 'geaux dynasty' anytime soon.

What do you not understand boy

You wanna be the best you gotta root for the best, admire the elite! Only then will you become elite. Pretty sure the Bear said that (peace be upon him).

Why can't your brethren be more like you?

Aggie catches a lot of flak particularly on here, but they are far from representative of your overall fan base. Despite what happens, it looks like one of the SEC teams will win the CWS barring any utter meltdown.
