I think most SEC teams really dont give two shits about winning the overall SEC. I look forward to the tourney because it gives us a real good snapshot of how our teams will play in the Regional's, Supers, and Omaha.

Frankly, I have seen far to many teams have a spectacular season only to lose steam at the supers/Omaha.

I rather be like teams of old and get hot late.

Disagree. SECT doesn't mean a ton. Lock in any questions (host, national seed) and get your pitching in line. Getting ready for regionals > winning it.

We got owned in the tourney all 3 years in a row we made it to the CWS finals.

Never heard this timeframe before. Most people say decade. I wonder why texag mentioned a half decade?

It's not like 5 years is a randomly wild number.

To all other teams:

Please forgive this idiot post from my fellow LSU fan. The regular season title is all that matters. The tournament is for shite. Skip used to consider it a failure on his part if he went far in the tourney

Right. So say 5 years. I've just never heard it referred to as half decade. It's like he wanted to make 5 years sound like a long time frame. Just texag doing texag things. I love the little guy

I won't argue that.

Skip won the SEC Tourney 6 times. 5 of those he also made it to the world series and won 2 of those.

I guess he considers those failures.

Impressive, no doubt.

On the flip side, SC won the SEC tourney 0 times while winning the CWS title twice in a row and playing for a 3rd in a row.

It's just not as important as keeping your pitching rotation IMO.

Not a bit. Y'all played a great series and definitely whipped us, but you prove what the true SEC baseball fan base is trying to tell you. The season is just getting started for the time and tested programs, i.e. TAMU has yet to win the SEC Tournament or show up in Omaha since being in the SEC. Just ask Florida or Ole Miss, they are the pros of the regular season.

Y'all need to go look up the format of the tourneys skip won. They weren't real tournaments. Once they went to the actual tournament format, Skip was vehemently against it.

I guarandamntee you if LSU or SC were leading the SEC this late in the season we'd have threads about it. There's nothing wrong with bragging about being on top this late in the season. Just because A&M is #1 right now and may win the SEC doesn't mean they're gonna fall apart in the postseason.

Your premise is that I said he did or CPM does or did. I never made that claim.

However, the facts are more inline with what I said as typically when we do well in the SEC tourney, we are more inclined to make it to the CWS.

Yea, I should have clarified I was more talking about LSU. I cant and dont follow the history of all other SEC teams like I do LSU. I just know our patterns better.

I most look forward to how the bullpen performs in the tournament format.

Edit: the "two shits" might have also been strong word choice as we have seen for many years now that quite a few teams can "not" win the SEC and still go far into the CWS.

This is also true.

I typically think that any team that can win the SEC outright is a pretty good fit to make the CWS.
