Biggest minus is breaking in a new dc, but he's not seen as a difference maker.

OP, if this is Germans, sorry, I missed it then. But was Boom leaving The Plains due only to his leaving to go to S.Carolina or was it more a matter of a lack of compatibility between he & Gus?

Depends on who you ask. But Muschamp and Gus are on good terms and Muschamp wants to work his offense based on what he saw Gus do at Auburn. He's also taking Bentley with him to help out with that. Our insiders say that there wasn't any sort of rift. I think he wasn't impressed with Auburn's athletic department in general and how it's run. IMO - rumors were circulating that Muschamp would go to Bama or UGA as a DC and folks were explaining that by assuming there was an issue.

From all accounts, Gus and Boom got along great.. The theory is Boom and Jay Jacobs had continued friction. Regardless, it's a non-issue really. If Boom had taken a DC position elsewhere, I would have been concerned, but everyone that left AU did so for a promotion.

He's a very average DC.

FSU talent >>>>>>> Aubie's

Probably as good as they can do though with a hot seat situation.

If one good year and one bad year means he's an "average" defensive coordinator... what does that make rob smith?
