Why am I the only Auburn fan that wants to wait till mid 2013 before I would even consider wanting the Auburn coaching staff gone?

These young kids will get this thing turned around, maybe even starting today.

Few wanted CGC here in 2009, but he did the things necessary, like hire the right coaches, to win a NC.

CSL may not be the answer, but give him at least one more year and coach BVG I believe is the answer. He needs the help from the kids we bring in for 2013

Why is everyone acting like Alabama fans? Remember CMike Shula even went 10-0 but ran into the top ten slayer CTT

potentially auburn could only win 2 more games. there is an abundance of talent on this team. top recruiting classes in the last few years. But when you lose this much it draws the players into an acceptance of losing. I think new blood is the only way to get out of it. I think he is gone after this year unless he turns it around today. We are probably the worst fair weather fans, but after winning a natty your fans are demanding much more. I feel your pain man a change might be what the program needs.

I do not want a change this year and agree with your comments. Message board opinions are just than. If a college makes a coaching decision based on the "sentiment" of a sports forum then the inmates are truly ruling the asylum.

The best approach IMO is to bring in a new AD and clean house in that dept. Let the new AD decide the coaching fates of Barbee, Chiz, and Pawlowski.

I like your attitude. Chiz needs more time.

This is gonna be tough, and I might actually shed tears from the excruciating pain, but I am gonna give you my honest, unbiased, opinion.

You are changing from the spread to a pro style offense. You are going to have a year, possibly 2 even, where you are going to suck floppy donkey dick because of personnel limitations alone. Not to mention the team learning a new offense at the same time that the assistant coaches are learning how to COACH this new offense. This is the problem Tony Franklin had. He was not able to bring his own people so he had to spend as much time coaching the coaches as he was coaching and teaching the new offense.

The defense isn't terrible at this point in the season. The score from the Ole Miss game is a bit misleading. That game was in question with only a few minuets to go and it got out of hand because Auburn was having to try to play catchup and made some mistakes that Ole Miss capitalized on. The defense is improving under BVG. I have seen major improvements in the level of play since the beginning of the season, especially where tackling is concerned.

Now don't take me as saying that Gene Chizik is a good coach, because I really dont think he is. But he is good at hiring staff, or he has been in the past at least. I think the best thing Auburn could do right now is get rid of some offensive assistants that are bringing the team down in 2 ways.

1. they do not know this offense
2. they are bringing bad press and bad juju in general to the team. (aka trooper and luper and their questionable recruiting tactics)

You get some assistants in there that can coach this pro style system and you may have a better team this year. Does that mean that Loeffler (sp) is the right OC for yall? Not necessarily, I'm still not sold on his ability just because we have not been able to see what he can do with the right pieces in place with the right positional coaches to coach them, but I do think that going back to a pro style offense is better for the team as a whole because it not only is more successful than the spread, but it also helps your defense instead of hurt it like the spread has been proven time and time again to do more often than not.

Now that I have said all that....

frick CHEEZEDICK!!! KEEP HIM AND TROOPER FOREVER!!!!!!!
RAAWWWWLLLLL TIIIIIIDE!!!!!!!!!

Because most of us can't see how this group of coaches can turn things around. What specifically has this coaching staff done this year to make you think they have the ability to magically improve this team?

CSL sucks and CGC is who hired him. How many times will OMac be run up the middle today with no blocking help? How many jet sweeps will we see at the goal line. Why give that clown another year calling plays?

Nobody on this staff other than BVG and Boulware are doing a very good job IMO, including Yox.

This is a difficult statement to make when you are looking at a transition year going from the spread to this offense.

A mediocre coach insists on running a scat back straight up the middle while bigger backs and an All American fullback twiddle their thumbs on the sideline. That is just one example of stubborn or clueless play calling.

You may be right. He may be terrible. I just think its hard to tell when he is fighting personnel discrepancies.

Please keep them! They'll never turn things around and I love seeing Auburn discussed in the same breath as Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

As Gene Stallings said, If you start listening to the fans in the stands, you'll wind up sitting with them.

A transition year has nothing to do with 1. Barely using an all American fullback in a pro offense. 2. Starting a clearly not ready 268 lb RT over a guy that is the right size and clearly more ready. 3. OMac around the edge for a 5 yard loss, over and over and over and over again without, apparently, even a cursory effort at fixing what is wrong with the blocking scheme. 4. Letting Ark time/jump every snap without once calling a hard count or freeze play. 5. Abandoning your TE's in the passing game, when it was a staple in Temple, and Auburn has an embarrassment of riches at TE. I could go on and on. The guy can't coach up quarterbacks and he can't call plays. He is a train wreck and he needs to go now.

I think we need to grab Rhett Lashlee. Same offense, everybody knows it and has confidence in it. Players were recruited for it. And given Chiz's tenuous circumstances, he's one of a few that would take the job. Unless Chiz is fired, we aren't getting a true up and comer rock star

looks at Gene's record against the SEC. He has a losing record against SEC opponents every year except for the Cam Newton year.

Gene is 0-10 against LSU, Bama, Georgia and Arkansas except the Cam Newton year.

everybody knew that year was a fluke...he played weak competition for the first 10 games of the season except the Florida game which had a new coach.

Yes, he "found" Cam Newton!

(Even with Cam, you were about 4 plays shy of being a two or three loss team.)

Of course, we all hope you keep him. Just like no one wanted to see UF fire Ron Zook.

And Chizik stands around watching all this and apparently does nothing. That is why I don't have faith in CGC.

Well, if that's the case, then I might would agree that he sucks the.

Regardless though, changing the offense is a move in the right direction IMO so if you do get rid of him, you need to replace him with someone with a cursory knowledge of pro style systems and not promote someone like Trooper who is a spread guy. You would be erasing all the learning they have done so far.
