USC didn’t jump us. This is meaningful.
We dispatch A&M, beat Georgia and the committee has signaled with this # 5 ranking that they will entertain the argument for LSU making the playoffs. That argument is:
•steady improvement in all phases
•beat three top 10 teams including undisputed #1 Georgia
•SEC West and SEC champs
•Coach Brian Kelly
Don’t know about a 2 seed. Committee buys itself cover with a 4 seed. Won’t matter if we’re in. Unless they buy themselves some added cover and put Georgia in a match against us.
Had USC jumped us the signal would be thanks for playing, enjoy your New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day bowl.
Going on record-I think we do it.

Not terribly surprising, but the likelihood of them getting in over USC is highly unlikely. They'll get to top 6, probably, with a win, but not top 4 barring a fairly crazy championship Saturday.
