I think LSU if a very different team right now than they were in the first few weeks, just as I think Alabama is. Both are loaded with talent and inexperienced in key positions, but getting better each week.

Similarly, I think Ole Miss beat us because they were the better team at that point - more experienced and more disciplined. I don't think they have progressed at the same rate, because they weren't as vulnerable in key spots and already had senior leadership.

The conferences are too imbalanced for this to be fair. It works in the NFL, where there is a more limited number of teams and more parity.

Wrong.

Even during the stretch of 13 Super Bowl wins in a row by the NFC, they never considered putting two NFC teams in. There wasn't the parity then as there is now, but it didn't make any difference.

So what? No one's suggesting we don't allow the SEC champions to get in. As it is now, the SEC champ could conceivably be left out. that's just dumb.

So the SEC champ would play the MWC champ in the first round. That's the reward for playing in a tough conference. State already beat Auburn. Why in the frick should they have to do it again? Because giving Auburn a second chance is somehow more fair than just letting conference champs in? That's lude-i-corice.

Maybe you won't move up. Will Bama fall behind LSU?

LSU has two blow-out losses.

If this is true, Bama has a blowout loss as well.

My problem is not that teams should get a second chance, it's that teams with a considerably easier path sometimes win. The best team doesn't always win. So if a team had to fight through three top ten opponents, some on the road, potentially lost key players to injuries, etc...then gets beat in a close game to a team that faced one tough opponent all year, that isn't fair.

It may not be completely equitable, but it is the MOST fair.

The team that has won the toughest conference should, in most cases, win the tournament seeing as they would draw the lower seeds. It just doesn't get any more fair than that. Will some upstart team get lucky on occasion and win it all? Yes, and that's as it should be. That's just the nature of determining your champions with a post season tournament.

Perhaps we should consider what qualifies a team for FBS.

You really suck as a poster due to your being so damn reasonable and yet supporting the Crimson Tide.

everyone with football knowledge has said LSU was young and would start slow. but, they would be tuff late as they mature, well you are seeing that play out....
Saturday will be a good game but my feeling is LSU 20 Bama 17. Team that makes least amount of mistakes will win.
