A few of these off season rankings have LSU towards the top. I don't like it.

Well if you think about it, it's only natural.

Never have we had close to this many returning starters on one team (usually 10-12). With 9 on offense and 9 on defense, we have never been more talented or experienced.

We actually have a legit defensive coordinator which will move us back to man coverage in the secondary. One of our worst problems last year (others being passing game and special teams), was giving up big plays in the passing game. I saw way too many busted coverages with un-athletic.

Regardless of what people believe, Harris developing touch and being a year experienced will go a long way in improving the passing game. Also the fact that the WRs will be taught to play more aggressive and run sharper routes.

The majority of LSU fans expected an 9-3/10-2 season last year (you can pull up old prediction posts from last offense on both boards if you don't believe me), but we never expected our defense and special teams to go straight down the toilet. And despite how it looked, Harris's numbers were much better in the SEC than Jennings's were. Natural progression with himself and the receivers, should make us, at the very least, average (58% 200 yards 1.5 TDs per game).

I really need to take notes on how Arkies do this for their sports teams. I'll try it for UF football this year.

I think UF will be a top 25 team with a possibly very stout defense, and an offense that finds itself as the season progresses.

How did I do?

Did better according to this poll.

7-5 was their prediction for us last year if you look at the list.

Contrary to the agendas that get thrown around, UT didn't underachieve, but rather did just what 90% of people expected them to do last year. 9-4 and 2nd in the East. It's an easy trap to fall into because of the blown leads and near misses, but we were never "supposed" to do more than what we did last year. We started the year at 25 in the AP poll and ended at 22. The people expecting 10 wins and a division title were the minority. If last year was a class, Butch passed, but just scraped by with a C.

All joking aside UT was about 10 min away from a "special season". Experience and talent should convert late collapses at some point. On the other hand, they were about 10 min away from disaster as well.

Has a mediocre team ever received as much preseason hype as Tennessee has over the past three seasons?

Given the last time we were picked to do anything by the national press (including SEC Media Day Votes) was in Fulmer's latter years, please back up this bullshite. We were picked to finish 2nd in the East last season and that's where we finished. The year before that the National Media picked us to finish between 3-8 and 5-7 (we finished 7-6).

That was not an Arkansas fans opinion. That is basically what the CFN write up stated about Arkansas.

-1 to you for not clicking and reading for yourself.

quote:

26. Arkansas (8-5)

2015 Final Season Ranking: 26
2015 Preseason Prediction: 10-2

There’s no question this will be a top 25 team once a few of the kinks are worked out in the fall camp. The running game will work – it’s a Bret Bielema coached team – but the loss of QB Brandon Allen will hurt. The offense has just enough retooling to do to be just okay, but the defense might turn into an absolute killer with almost all the top tacklers returning.
