Lot of chatter coming out of Alabama about A.J. McCarron's knee. Heard from 3 sources now that there's a meniscus tear #Bama

Russ Mitchell ?@RussMitchellCFB
We're unlikely to get anything frm Saban, who has downplayed the injury. You can also play w/ meniscus damage, although it can effect (cont)

Russ Mitchell ?@RussMitchellCFB
(cont) strength and mobility. McCarron looked OK in practice Mon, but nobody is chasing you in practice. More as it develops

Russ Mitchell ?@RussMitchellCFB
@barrettsallee I don't know...players play w/ meniscus damage, just depends on how bad. Waiting for word frm Bama on if MRI was even done

This looks like someone hoping to have some news when he really doesn't.

Something tells me if this were true, this random dude wouldn't be the one breaking the story. For that reason and plenty others, I ain't even scared.

Had no idea that he'd gotten hurt. I'm a CPA/just got done w/Oct 15 deadlines. If this si true, this is bad news for y'all. Dude is a solid solid QB.

This would suck if it turns out to be true. It won't feel the same from this fan's pov, if AJ can't play.

A meniscal injury can be bad or not so bad. It depends on if it is stable or not. If it is a small tear this could be nothing. But there are meniscal tears that are unstable and can cause a lot of problems. Eventually, he will get degenerative change because he is losing his shock absorber. All of these football players have pain in their futures.

I've seen 20 something year olds with knees that look like 60 something. That is how bad football is for yor body.

Most likely he will be fine as long as it is an isolated injury.

Strength and mobility are also concerns. Though again, if at this point it was bad, have to think he would have sat Monday

It's not like the guy is blowing this out of proportion.

He seems to do a bit of backtracking.

Russ Mitchell ?@RussMitchellCFB
Still, if accurate, many meniscal tears are treated non-surgically w/ PT, anti-inflams & cortizone. AJ practiced Mon; can't imagine (cont)

Russ Mitchell ?@RussMitchellCFB
(cont) Saban has him practicing on a Mon if it's serious. He'd sit the week.
