First off, that is a piss poor effort. I mean...

Secondly, who is bragging like the season is over? The fourth spot is between us and a few other teams, and by this metric we are the best.

In short, DIAF.

Yea, I have to edit that. One of the two had USCe at #29 and the other at like #35.

Sagarin and ESPN have your wins ranked differently, so one has you with 4 and the other 5 inside the Top 30. Also have USCe ranked differently as noted above.

Yep, be shaping up for 2011 Part 2 in the Dome for sure.

Maybe, but I don't think so. I think our team overall is better than 2011. I think we'd play pretty damn well in the SECCG. We run the ball and play good defense (most of the time). That's a recipe for success in this league.

I'm sorry, I meant 2012. Totally changes the context of what I was trying to convey hahaha.

It will be interesting to see how the committee weighs good wins vs. bad losses. I'd love to know if this has been explicitly discussed by the members. Not sure I can really make a conclusion based on the current rankings. But I'm sure this has been discussed on here before?

Really begs the question of whether you buy into teams who seem to "play-up" to their level of competition/circumstances.

I'm sure it's UGA's recent history that has biased me into thinking that the quality of opponents in wins should be weighted more highly than the quality of opponents in losses

I just can't imagine that UGA would get in with 2 losses unless everyone else just starts dropping like flies. Even with a win over Alabama in the Dome.

It would def. take a lotta help, but finishing out the season winning vs (ranking & record at time we played them) #9, 7-2 AU, Top 15, 9-2 GT & (projected)Top 3 11-1 Bama would hopefully move the UGA needle if we got some help...

Far fetched & wishful thinking, but we've had some crazy last 2 weeks of the reg season in the past...

I agree. Would need alot of dominoes to fall. Think UGA would need at least one of the B1G, PAC10 or ACC champions to fall and an MSU loss in the egg bowl (in addition to the Dome win against Alabama).

Hoping there'd be enough outrage at the SEC being excluded from the playoff to get them in if that happened. Although wouldn't blame the committee much for still picking Alabama or Ole Miss over us given the relative weakness of the east this year.

State had to pass vs Bama. They could run all over OM and literally pass it 10 times.

For some reason the computers all love Oklahoma, even with recent results. Weird anomaly. They are still #8-10 in all the computers I think.

'Course, the only one that matters comes out December 7th.

In the meantime, AlaBama (Western Carolina) & State (Vandy) SoS, should go down next week.

Because they lost to LSU and Auburn not Indiana

No one said Mizzou was a playoff contender.

Again, LSU is not ranked and Auburn very well could end up there as well.

So, again, how is Ole Miss, not Mizzou, a playoff contender? Its not about Mizzou just to be clear in case you need that clarity.

They have the following wins

#41 Boise State (N)
#36 Memphis
#1 Alabama
#19 @ Texas A&M
#30 Tennessee
#17 @ Arkansas (assumed in this scenario)
#10 Mississippi State (assumed in this scenario)
SEC Championship Win (#3 UGA/#36 Mizzou)

Losses to : @ #16 LSU, vs #6 Auburn

They'd have 7 or 8 Top 50 wins, 1 Top 5 win, 2-3 Top 20 wins. That would compare very favorably to anybody else that would be on that fringe (TCU, Baylor, Ohio State, UCLA, etc).

To compare, here are Missouri's wins assuming they win out and go to Atlanta

#33 @ South Carolina
#23 @ Florida
#19 @ Texas A&M
#30 @ Tennessee
#17 Arkansas
#1 Alabama

Losses to : #81 Indiana, #3 Georgia

Mizzou would have 6 Top 50 wins and only 1 Top 15 win to go along with a home loss to #81.
