Do you just post like random stuff and hope it's true?

crimsonsaint has a history of this...you saw him trying to claim that wasn't AJ's tattoo when there was very strong evidence supporting it.

The only thing I want to know is what made the Newtons decide to send Cam to AU free of charge if Cecil was so hell bent on getting money for his services? Did he do it just to say "frick MSU" for not giving him the money? I hope shite comes out a few years down the line. It really is a fascinating situation.

It's a legit question. I don't think we will ever really know, but, like you, I hope the full story is told one day.

From the beginning, I said Auburn paid 10 times what MSU offered which according to the BAMMERS and the Cowbellers was ZERO... So that is not really a factor. Now IF MSU was in fact going to pay Cecil, then I see your point. But all I have seen is that MSU told CAM no. So MSU offered ZERO and Auburn offered ZERO, BUT Cecil had conversations with MSU and they did not go as planned.

Cuz MSU is a shitty football school. So it was gonna take some cash for Cecil to send his son to that dump.

But Cecil admitted to soliciting money from anyone that would listen. I have a hard time believing that he just all of a sudden backed off that practice because Auburn is such a football powerhouse.

It certainly makes it awkward to attend a school you unsuccessfully tried to shakedown. Hopefully MSUs rejection screwed everything up and Cam had to land somewhere else for free.

That isn't true. He admitted to soliciting from MSU boosters.

Other schools recruiting Cam have said they were not solicited (no idea if they are lying or not).

He admitted discussing money.. Not sure who was doing the soliciting... Based on NCAA findings, it would appear that the soliciting was done by AGENT Rogers.... Cecil would have taken the money, no doubt about that....
-----------------------------------------------
“I never once had any belief that Cam was ineligible,” McGlynn said. “But under the bylaw, they said he was ineligible because he had an athletic scholarship agent. Cam was the No. 1 prospect coming out of junior college. He didn’t need an agent.

And how do you know it wasn't Rogers who brought the whole plan to Cecil??

Well.. I think the stories are stacked against Cecil. It's not just Cecil vs Rogers. It's cecil vs several that all agree that Cecil was seeking money.

At what point does the solicitation of funds become an infraction then? When Rogers (agent) went to Bell (bagman) with the payment plan?

Just wondering how far former players of a school, the parent of a player and the guys with the money can go before someone gets their hand slapped. Or has it always been an open market....

In my mind it doesn't really matter whose idea it was. Ultimately they were both equally complicit (Cecil and Rogers) and knew what they were doing was wrong.

When money, fishing trips, laptops, etc. change hands... when there is a benefit paid.. That is the LOOPHOLE....
(BTW 41, this is why I believe the case is close to being closed)

“I completely understand when you step back and say, ‘Someone soliciting $180,000 from somewhere, there is no place for that in college athletics.’ But the rule isn’t written to cover that situation. There were times we went back and forth and had a very open dialogue about the whole process. If I'd had a concern about eligibility, he wouldn’t have played.”

The NCAA already said that Cam Newton could have known he was being shopped, but it wouldn't have mattered. They said that is not a violation.

NOT.. NO SIR.. NEVER.. HAVE NOT! They never said it was not a violation.

We agree ~ All Cecil wants is money $$$ and he could care less about earning it himself.

Gotta feel somewhat sorry for Cam, Cecil Jr. and the 12yr Newton that's being raised by the good reverend.

The key part is they ARE saying Rogers was an agent, but that solicitation is a LOOPHOLE.... where have you been..

I know they said CAM did not know, but do not bend the other facts... If CAM came out today and said he knew, it would not change a thing, EXCEPT taint him further.

41, we finally agree... Look I understand this was terrible, but I still believe it was the FATHER sinning and not CAM. The sins of the father should not carry to the son, but of course we know they have.

I honestly believe Cam is a good guy.. Time will tell...

Yep - And to further your statement, they KNEW who they needed to contact to get the payment plan in place (Bell.) Shady as hell, and I don't care what people say, IMO at minimum, MSU is gonna get burned for this shite.

They had 3 (THREE) former players involved directly and indirectly in coordinating P4P to MSU. The NCAA can't sit back and let that go unpunished, IMO.

Dang 41, we agree again.. time to go on vacation.. Now not sure IF MSU will actually get hit, but I do believe IF Cam had gone to MSU and we heard about it, MSU would be in very hot water.
