Cecil uses the example of Manziel and Winston but what Bama fans are really hoping for is a Newton or Marshall who can transfer in and provide immediate impact Gus Malzahn has provided the blue print and Alabama is attempting to emulate it

This is such utter bull shite. I have not seen a single Bama poster claim Coker as the Second Coming.

Cocker hasn't taken a single live game snap and he's on every Heisman/QB Award watch list in the nation sooo this
quote:

But that has become the LSU/AU Strawman Talking Point. Claim Bama has overhyped the kid and then revel in a non-existent "melt".

Is bull shite. Auburn/LSU fans didn't create the narrative of Coker as tGOAT

Which is from FSU, Jimbo and others hyping him up. You want to ignore they were the ones who made the hype train.

In this thread: opposing fans who can't even spell the names of the bama QBs give their "expert analysis" of bama's upcoming season.

Zow v. Watts 2.0

Doesn't bode well for Auburn considering Zow had a field day on Aubs in 2001

Bama fans bought into the hype (I understand why),

The hype means that this may show Kiffin can not develop and teach QBs. The other option is Jimbo lied, but do coaches ever lie ?

The team rallied around their QB, Auburn prepared for Watts. Zow >>>>>>>>>> Watts. Zow also had a lotof experience. Auburn got drilled at home.

This would be an opposite situation, unless Coker starts until the Auburn game and Sims comes in.

From BOL:

Got some insight this weekend on Coker.
I'm glad Blake Sims is working hard and giving the effort, But this will be Jacob Cokers team this season. He will live up to the offseason hype. " He is an Nfl caliber QB who will end up being a 1st round draft pick. " His arm strength will turn heads once he steps on campus. I can't wait to see what he does with all the reciever talent we have. Roll Tide.

Coker is already getting hype as a NFL prospect for next year's draft, I doubt a kid who has already graduated would stay another year if he blows up and has a huge year like some expect. I also have to remember though that he's a huge Bama fan so that could factor in no idea though

quote:

For Jacob Coker, the hype continues to build. Earlier this week, Jason McIntyre of thebiglead.com offered up a way-too-early, first-round mock for the 2015 NFL Draft. To the surprise of no one, the Alabama duo of wide receiver Amari Cooper (No. 7 to Carolina) and safety Landon Collins (No. 22 to St. Louis) had spots in McIntyre's mock. To the surprise of most, however, two other UA players -- quarterback Jacob Coker (No. 23 to Arizona) and linebacker Trey DePriest (No. 25 to New York Jets) -- also showed up in round one.

quote:

Fast forward four years. Who do you think would be on the active All-Bama team for the NFL?

QB: Coker, Cornwell

quote:

100% sure that'll be the case. Let's hope Coker is half as good as we're hyping him up to be, because if not, we're in trouble.

There's plenty more from Bama posters.. I'm just lazy and came across this gem though..

quote:

This is random, but my kids got a puppy for Christmas from Santa. We got a white lab last April, and they decided to name him AJ. He passed away a week after the Iron Bowl. We struggled on a name prior to the kids getting the new pup (Coker, Foster, and Henry were our options) because we wanted a tag for when they first saw him. We ended up going with Henry. I was worried because I was naming our dog after a third string RB.

Oh, I know there have been Bama folks here and there extolling Coker's skills and their expectations of big things from him this season. I lurked here for a few years before signing on and distinctly remember LSU fans doing the same hyping for JJ. We all know how that turned out.

Just saying that we're not the only people that gets a little excited over a new QB.

Coker may turn out to be the next AJ, or he could become the next JJ...none of us know what's gonna happen, do we?

Pretty sure that Coker has more skills than AJ and McElroy and we won 3 NCs with them, so I feel pretty comfortable about Coker.

All y'all predicting failure need to realize that both Coker and Kiffin were brought in by the best coach and best recruiter in CFB. What makes any of you keyboard commandos think you know better than him?
