I rewound the Tivo 3 times to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing.

Concern:

-Secondary. Pass defense is very questionable. Will touch more on that later
-Kicking. The new guy stepped in and was perfect, but Morgan is back into the starting role, who knows how he'll perform?
-Depth on D. We have basically only played 2 ILB the whole season. The backups (who are all 3 true freshmen) must not be ready.
-Backup WRs. We have depth, but McGowan and Davis both dropped easy balls Saturday.

Optimism:
-As for the secondary, most of the mistakes are correctable due to them being freshman. On several of the long plays given up, they've just taken bad angle. That's fixable.
-Our run defense isn't great, but it's improved from last year. Hopefully they can continue
-The OL is performing adequately. Week 1 was bad, but against the best DL we'll see all year they did terrific. We have very good depth here for the first time in forever
-Murray looks as good as we've hoped
-The run game is ridiculous. Quayvon is a road grader and Gurley is Gurley
-Starting receivers. Bennett, Conley, JSW, and Artie Lynch all look excellent.

IT's not always about you!

Optimism.

Last year's D would have given up the yards AND the TD's.

These guys are making plays, comig up to hit the ball carrier behind the LOS. Still way too inconsistent, but tons of promise.

Well...Jake's "Turn the other cheek" approach to tackling is an issue...

We should see how we really stack up in 2 weeks against SEC competition going into LSU. That should be our first real test of the improvements our defense has made.

Lots of yards given up between the 20s.

That will turn into lots of points against the top half of the SEC. Auburn is two recruiting classes away from fielding a defense even in the same discussion with Bama or LSU.

Need a gif. I missed it.

ETA: And do you really have a Tivo? I haven't seen a Tivo in 5 years.
