I work in TV, and that's certainly not dead.

Yeah Syracuse is awesome but incredibly competitive. They have connections with ESPN so that's a huge draw as well.
Yeah, if you want to do sports communications/journalism then Syracuse is really the place to be.

I noticed that too. When I was looking at Mizzou online a lot of their grad programs seem to be focused on print. That was another thing that turned me away from them.
I've checked out Cronkite as well because I'm interested in broadcast. I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to apply there. I just think I have a better shot with Syracuse because I'm not as strong academically but my work experience is stellar for a 25 year old. Syracuse places a lot of admission value in work experience.

Henry Jones Jr
My first cousin graduated from Mizzou in Journalism. Within 5 years he was working for the Wall Street Journal. Not long after being hired on at the WSJ, he was promoted to covering Capitol Hill. President Bush specifically asked my cousin along with a handful of other journalists to accompany him on Air Force 1 during a world tour that started in Europe. When President Bush would address the media, every now-and-then he'd make some friendly jabs at my cousin and call him by his first name on TV.
Of course that was no interest to most people. But it was pretty cool especially considering that my cousin is more like an older brother than first cousin. My father raised him for a portion of his childhood and we spent a lot of time working on the farm together in northeast Missouri.
Now he's a media consultant who works with Fortune 500 companies to create crisis management plans of action. My cousin is the individual who planned Target's highly successful media response to their most recent compromise. His media plan actually caused Target's stock to go up after experiencing one of the largest compromises in history.
My cuz is killing it right now!
Good luck, Jones.

Uhhh...yeah...you're wrong. You're a fool. But one thing for certain is that you are overrated.

Television news pretty much is outside of an ancient demographic.

Didn't say I work in television news, I said I work in TV.

That is awesome man. Your cousin sounds like a boss
One of the coolest things about journalism is the people you get to interact with. I've met Hugh Freeze, Les Miles, James Franklin and interacted with players. It's a great field to be in but it is very demanding.

Ringing TVs up at the cash register at Wal-Mart does not mean you work in TV.

Sorry for the assumption, I guess I assumed you actually had relevant experience for you to be so picky about journalism schools.

That was probably funny in your head.

Just because it hurts your delicate little feelings doesn't mean it isn't funny.

He is a boss. Dude most certainly has swagger, determination, and is now living the American dream thru hard work and intelligent decision making.
He's certainly a fricking boss.
On his spare time he competes in Iron Man contests for shits and giggles. He's just "that guy"...a real guy instead of pussyfooting wimps like Stonehog.
ETA: re-read my previous post, Jones...
