That's a moral victory.

It was a game that literally carries 0 weight on the season other than a number in the W/L column. Nobody gives a shite about that game. It's a midweek, non-conference game against a conference opponent. There is no moral victory to be had because there is no consequence to the loss.

Actually if you read the context of my post I'm saying it's a bad thing in the long run. We get waxed in this game but we win the conference season thereby giving Gaspard a feather in his cap against our biggest rival. Therefore, he does just enough each year to continue on as head coach. In other words, a lose/lose situation for Alabama baseball fans. No moral victory in that.

How is something happening that we all see as a negative (eventually winning the SEC series which means we keep our shitty coach which we all do not want) a moral VICTORY?

Monkey Town?

Racist?

That nickname dates all the way back to at least the 1970s when Montgomery's population was overwhelmingly white. According to wiki, the non-hispanic white population is down 66% since 1970, so it could certainly be viewed as having racist implications today.

Honestly, you don't hear many people under 35 or so call it 'monkeytown'. The modern nickname is 'The Gump'. I don't know where or when that one started either but since Gump rhymes with Dump, it is very fitting.

it was a baseball loss

sucks to lose the classic again but no need to cut wrists over a baseball loss

baseball is the sport where the joy of winning and agony of defeat are dulled the most due to number of games

Both teams are mid-majors in a League with some heavy hitters. Blame the lotto, HS Baseball, or coaching, but they both have issues.

Clearly, you were unfamiliar with how abysmal our hitting is.

The loss is well worth it if it gets us a coaching change any quicker.
