Won't happen because Bama and UT think they're special, and Bama runs shite. But yeah, ditching permanent rivals would be fantastic for getting to play cross-division opponents more often.

Well not if you slice it scoring D.

I can't see a serious problem with allowing those teams who think they simply MUST play each other to continue doing so - Bama/UT, Auburn/UGA, maybe LSU/UF but they need to get the hell over it, and let everybody else rotate w/o this made-up permanent rival nonsense. That's not ideal, but better than the current schedule.

As is, for example, A&M plays at UGA for the first time in 2019, A&M's 8th year in the conference. That's insane. And UGA doesn't go to A&M before 2024. Bleah.

You mean it taking 12 years before UGA comes to Kyle isn't ideal?

Yes, that is what I mean.

ETA: Yeah, I get that keeping Auburn/UGA doesn't help my example. I didn't think this through entirely. I think the long term best solution is for Saban to retire so that Bama doesn't get their stinkin' way on every issue.

Take away the Tennessee touch downs and they are towards the top of the country

-5 out of the 7 TD's UF has given up has been to Tennessee.
-6 out of the 10 TD's Virginia Tech has given up has been to Tennessee.

Sliced 3 ways now

I can easily both being undefeated going into this game but Tennessee wins an ugly overhyped game strictly because it's played in October. This is the time of year Sumlin starts to feel great about his team and is drunk by game time.

UTs line isn't going to be handle Garret all game but still manage to win a lower scoring game.

If you really believe this, you haven't been paying attention.

FWIW Ole Miss scares me more than Bama or UT. CK is the real deal, and A&M's CB's got exposed a bit against Arkansas.

It's called paying your dues you conference newbie. It wouldn't be so bad if y'all hadn't joined in the first place.

The rest of us didn't get to enjoy the awesome game experiences in Lubbok, Stillwater, Manhattan and Lawrance, Kansas (except Mizzou who still wants to play there for some reason)

GTFO and go back to the big 12

It should be a big game. Not happy it's in CS I have a feeling most of our games are going to be shootouts. And CK could easily cost us another game with his decision making if he doesn't clean it up. But as a long time OM fan I know it could be any game.

Since Ole Miss is in the same boat I don't really get your point.

No doubt. But we're here. Nyahh, nyahh, nyahh.

If our permanent opponent was Vanderbilt, well, I don't need to finish that sentence do I? When does OM play UT next, home or away? I don't know, but it won't be before 2021. You don't see a problem here?

Well that would just hurt my feelings if I had any. Shame on you.

I've been to Knoxville. I don't really care when the next time we play there is. But I will go when we do because I've got a lot of friends who went there.

Same with pretty much every school is the SEC. I've personally seen my team play in every SEC stadium except Lexington, CS, Mizzou.

My point is that no cares that you haven't. Welcome to the conference by all means but don't come up in here trying to break up rivalries for the sake of A&M seeing the sights.

Get over it. Nobody cares.

You're absolutely right. The Ole Miss/Vanderbilt rivalry is a time-honored tradition that I have no right to question. I'll go back to the newbie corner now.

Florida hadn't surrendered a passing touchdown in their first 3 games. They surrendered FOUR to Josh Dobbs.

I know VT and UF have good to great defenses. However. UF & VT rank 51st and 54th in total O. And don't say it was due to UT's great D because you make up a quarter of the weight while non power 5 teams make up 62.5%.

We're currently 9th and only 1/4 of our games were vs non P5 teams.

Man I love me some stats.
