Let me ask you this. Is there some part of you that believes that Aaron Murray will win the SECCG this year?
Yes. That's the goal. When you are 5 yards and a tipped pass in a hurry up situation away just last year with basically your whole record setting offense coming back I'd say that the expectation is there, absolutely. I think it's pretty fair and realistic to have those expectations at UGA on a yearly basis. What I don't understand is how you can't comprehend that and dismiss the notion of Aaron Murray winning a championship as FACT. That's just moronic.
I think it's pretty close to a FACT, that he most definitely has the ability to lead this team to a championship, and I think most on here would agree that he proved that last year in the SECCG.
We'll more than likely know whether he'll even get that chance after 4 games, so I guess we'll just sit back and watch the games play out as they may.

Ok. When it doesn't happen, I'll try to refrain from calling you a stupid, moronic white trash dumbass with a whore for a mother because I'm above that.

Now you're sliding into a stupidity zone. While no, we won't be favored to win the NC, after all we'd have to beat the taters, USCjr, UF, LSU, and Bama to even go. But multiple predictions have put us near it, and crazier things have happened. To say its a FACT that uga can't go all the way this year is plain ignorance.

because he stays in games against cupcakes throwing bombs to pad his stats.
Not all the media actually watch all these games. They just read stat lines and are wowed by inflated numbers.

Gonna have to side with Mullen on this one. As much as that pains me.

3 returning starters on D, and it’s not UGA has some elite offense...I think it’s pretty safe to say it’s a FACT UGA CAN’T go all the way...last year was UGA year and they blew it.

OK.
I accept that it very well, and probably likely won't happen.
But it could, and that's a fact.

We kind of do.

Nevermind that Murray is playing in the golden age of Bama specifically and the SEC in general, much the same as Manning played during UF's reign of terror.
Sometimes, you just come along at the wrong time to win a championship. Hes a pretty damned good QB who had the misfortune to come along when he did.

Dan Marino

I think a few people in this thread have a fundamental misunderstanding of the definition of a fact.
Saying "Aaron Murray will not win a SEC championship" is not a factual statement, because he still could. That is your opinion. It's a reasonable opinion, but it is not a fact.
If, in December, Aaron Murray does not win the SEC championship, you will then be able to say factually that "Aaron Murray did not win an SEC Championship." That will not, however, make your current statement factual; it will simply mean that your opinion was correct.

If Tyler Bray gave up some of his gunslinger zip for better QB intelligence he'd be Aaron Murray. IOW, Aaron Murray is an outstanding QB.

What hype? Other than the coach's SEC first team pick, I haven't heard a lot of praise for Murray. JFF definitely gets most of the attention/headlines. Murray has excellent stats but few big wins and no accompanying championships. And it's going to be tough to live up to expectations this season after losing so many starters on defense. Aaron is a fine young man though and I'm definitely pulling for him.

Which QB showed up huge and closed the deal in their biggest game last year?
Aaron Murray - No
JFF - Yes, he beat Bama with a weaker supporting cast than Murray had.

Which QB is the preseason SEC first team QB?
ETA: JFF didn't even make it to the biggest game last year.

Head to head JFF beat Bama at their house with a weaker supporting cast.
Murray lost to Bama in a game in his home state.
Winning is how score is kept.
JFF will again be recognized as the SEC's premier QB at the end of this season.
