Texas will never be in the SEC, that ship has sailed forever.

The more cool, confident people of Texas will always go to UT,and it will always be like that.

You know over 50% of A&M students would have been guaranteed admittance to UT under the 10% rule. Probably 80% or more were accepted, or would have been accepted.

Jeez. A school wins one game against Alabama and now their future is bright.

So only half of the students at one institution that is arguing that it is the flagship institution met the requirement to get in automatically to another university that is perceived as the flagship institution. I'm not sure this is helping the argument for Aggy.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

"Guaranteed Acceptance" = "Automatic Acceptance" without even having to fill out an application.

I was accepted into t.u. in 1996 having not even applied there.

How does this change my point at all? Your dig at reading comprehension is funny given that you unsuccessfully refuted the point. You might have even missed the point. Give it another go.

So who gives a damn? If you want to say Texas is the premier University just because they have a stronger football HISTORY then fine, nothing will change your mind. I certainly wouldn't change places with them for the future though.

As much as I hate UT, their alumni network is by far the best in the south for a public university. Virginia is up there along with Emory and SMU (both private) but McCombs is incredible with their alumni network. A&M is a great school but their network isn't really even comparable.

I would put the Association of Former Students well above the Texas Exes in terms of effectiveness.

Why as a poster above chimed in they are just in dumb mode now with Brown....when they get rid of his arse they will hire whoever they want in the country outside of Saban.

How much would it rustle your jimmies if Sumlin is in that conversation....cause he may very well be.

While I'm sure your endorsement is going to be key to this debate, do you have any reason for your unsupported assertion? Do you have a reason that doesn't involve your familiarity with one over the other or your rooting interest in one of the institutions?

They also beat Arkansas.

Insignificant accomplishment for the rest of the SEC West, but huge accomplishment for the Aggies.

I know there are exceptions but Aggies have a tendency to stay in the Aggie bubble with recruiting. Aggies will wear their class rings to interviews and if the interviewer is an Aggie they could take a shite on the floor mid-interview and still be hired.

Situations where the interviewer isn't talking about the spirit that can ne'er be told and shite, UT really is in another class, not just with A&M but all other universities.
