I guarantee you that stopping our win streak after 6 wins was a huge game for Bama fans.

Beating Bama those years wasn't a big accomplishment (big game wise) for Auburn, but we had that same feeling of just not wanting to lose. 2010 & 2013 both had major implications hence why we love them so much.

You're probably right. I never counted.

I just know that there was only once in my lifetime where you had the chance to be on top of the college football world when we played you - 2011 - and by the time the Iron Bowl came around that year, it was a blowout and a joke. I'm not going by some arbitrary number of losses, I'm talking about knocking off the elite of the sport.

Your inconsistency deprives us of the joy of beating you, only avoidance of pain. It's unfair, really.

Absolutely. It was HUGE for us.

But we were #1 in the country, and you were 5-6, and you got blasted 36-0. Whatever outpouring of emotion we would have from that long awaited win was pretty much spent in the first quarter.

Well, that is just recently.

We were pretty good though not elite for a while under Tubbs. Like 2002-2007. That was 6 years we were pretty good in a row.

Then under Dye we were pretty elite for a long stretch. We had some merely good years in there, but we won at least 8 games for 9 straight years when there was no championship game and teams only played 11 games. That included 4 SEC championships and 4 straight 1 or 2 loss seasons, with 4 straight top 7 finishes.

Yes, you have been pretty good at times. You've never been a threat to win two straight national titles. You've never been elite.

I don't mean to spoil the orange and blue circle jerk, though. Losing to Cam crushed us, and last year was very painful, so there's no reason to stop the party.

Then be better more often.
We could say the same when Tubs owned Alabama for 6 straight years. I dont remember much about those games other than a few plays here or there. Those wins were just not that exciting because we were expected to win.

But in 2010 and 2013, Auburn won in such a dramatic fashion that fans will remember the game for the rest of their lives, on both sides

I'm so glad you linked that thread. I've spent an hour looking through it and I've been laughing that whole hour. The butthurt in that thread is unmatched.

There used to be (maybe still out there) a copy of the TiderInsider game thread from the 2002 Iron Bowl.

That's the only thing I've ever seen to rival this for bammer comedy gold.

While I would've rather won the Kick6 game, the Camback hurt worse...if the Kick6 hadn't happened, we could've still lost in OT...

Punt, Bama, Punt hurt much more than either one though...

Kick 6. I knew going into the second half of "Camback," that Nick Fairly would be in the game. He really was the great equalizer of the game. I told all of my Bama Friends that this would give Auburn the real edge.

Kick 6 hurt more for personal reasons. I watched the game with an old family friend of my parent's. He was a life long Bama fan and died a few days later after the Kick 6 game of a massive heart attack. It sucks that was his last Alabama game to watch.

Which game hurt more, Camback or Kick Six?

Not a flame, just curious which loss sucked more from the bama perspective?

Camback.

Losing a huge lead at home when any number of small things like the inexplicable roll of Mark Ingram's fumble would have made the difference was a lot harder to take than losing to a great team on the road with the winner claiming the SEC-W.

I would think Kick 6 because it cost Bama a shot at the SEC and BCS title, but from a Bama perspective it was likely Camback because it led to Auburn winning a coveted National Title.

I would prefer AU to win a NC than Ok, Oh St, USC, ND, or one of the few other teams Bama is competing with for most successful program in college football history.

Definitely last year, no question. Especially seeing as how we had multiple chances in the 4th quarter to just put the game away, and we couldnt do it. And it blocked us from potentially 3-peating. Really frustrating.

Camback sucked, but it really didnt bother me that bad seeing as how we werent even in contention to win the West. and I never have been a Cam hater. I like the guy. I never felt comfortable in that game even when we were up 24-0.

Last year. It didn't hurt losing to Cam because he was great. I didn't feel the same way about Auburn last year.
