Really?

Dude I played college basketball and I've never seen a coach do that.

Belle, there's a difference in leaving the box and leaving the box to physically push a player into position.

you've never seen a coach go out on the court? I'm not saying it happens every game, but it is not something I've never seen before especially in a close game.

I've seen them be on the court.

Just never to push a player into position during a live ball.

Are we talking about going onto the court or going onto the court and touching players?

John Calipari is a good friend and an even better human being. Disparaging remarks about his coaching or character are out of line.

Have you ever seen a coach go out on the court during live play when the ball is on their side and physically MOVE a player into position?

I've never seen that on any level

Right? It's amazing

People keep ignoring that he went on the court during live play pushing a player into position

What's the problem here

Yeah these people don't realize we had Norm Stewart as our coach for 30+ years.

For reference, Norm once stood all the way out at the middle of the court yelling while an Illinois player shot free throws. Our own team had to restrain him and haul him back to the bench. He didn't get T'd up b/c the ref was probably very scurred of what the raving loon would do next.

And of course there was one of our main rivals back in the day, Billy Tubbs at Oklahoma, who during our game with them at OU was handed a microphone to "calm" the crowd and said: "Folks, please, regardless of how terrible the officiating is, do not throw things on the floor." Crowd goes nuts, thweet technical foul and Tubbs has the audacity to look surprised...those were the days

I saw a player run behind a coach last week during transition - ran it back just to make sure that I saw it right. Wish I could remember the game. The trailing official just tapped the coach on the shoulder on the way by.

Nothing will ever top Bobby Knight slamming the phone on the scorers table during NCAA tourney. Stopped the game for about 5 minutes without use of a TO. Was that Auburn or LSU game that he did that?
