Why anyone would make fun of someone trying to better themselves is beyond me. Very impressive that he went back and finished, no matter the degree.

The jokes are about this, which you may have forgotten

But seriously, good for Cadillac and any other athlete that comes back and finishes a degree. As a PE major, more years ago than I want to remember, I showed up to umpire an intramural softball game, as was one of the degree requirements (officiate X number of games in 2 different sports). It wasn't even a class, and there wasn't a grade. I got a kick out of it when my partner who worked the bases pulled up next to the field in a crimson Cadillac with New York plates. Always thought it was pretty cool that after having gotten his big contract and gotten paid...not only did he come back and finish his degree, but the university didn't waive what many might have thought to be a petty requirement for a star player.

Anyone want to take a guess who it was?

is a very good person and was smart with his NFL money. He's doing things right and wanted to get his degree finally. What's so wrong with that?

Glad to hear this. I think that they should have a course for these players about how to handle their money and what type of agent that they need. Their bodies won't last forever on a football field and they will need business sense to fall back on.
Always good to hear about a player coming back to get his degree whenever he does it. Joe Namath just recently came back to get his degree.
I think that he and one of his daughters graduated at the same time.

hopefully it was something that truly interested him, becuase i don't see it as a career move. it could be a great step towards college coaching because it does require one... and it pays way better than a being a sociologist. congrats caddy

Yeah, I got to walk with him in '07. Love being able to tell people I graduated with Broadway Joe.

It would be interesting to see if Malzahn hires him to be a GA next season, if indeed that is what CW wants to do.

Cadillac is one of the all-time greats. I liked Auburn a lot better when they were about defense and the running game.

Chris Samuels did that. He came back to Bama to finish his degree and he is a student assistant coach. Always go back to finish your degree. Do whatever it takes
