The sitting Head Coach of the University of Tennessee, was turned down, by Purdue.

At least there seemed to be some communication between your coach and Purdue. Our HC was turned down by Syracuse and wasn't even considered by Purdue.

So Butch is trying to quit on his team, but no one wants him. Why would the team want to even play for him now?
The cancer on the team is clearly the head coach. Get rid of him now or it's just going to make things worse. The administration should be held accountable if nothing is done.

Butch should be fired for incompetence, charts, lobbying for the Purdue job, avoiding questions after a loss, impersonating a lesbian, and generally acting like a bitch.
