This isn't a new idea. They played the double header a few times. It was a lot of fun and sold out the BJCC, but Auburn killed it. Didn't want to play in Birmingham anymore.

What's Auburn's deal with playing in B'ham? I think it would be a great draw to get the in state schools in matchups in B'ham. Hell, bring in Troy and do a 4 team tourney weekend.

An Auburn game would be great. Nothing like an easy win for the Blazers.

I think this would be great for raising the profile of basketball in the state.

Not true. We play them in softball quite a bit.

Awesome. One basketball matchup in the history of both programs and that was an NIT matchup. Never played in football.

I think Alabama would fall in that category as well.

When did baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, etc. cease to exists as sports? UA and UAB played/will play in all of those sports this academic year.

I was told about this last summer by someone that use to work in UAB's athletic department. He was skeptical if it happening at the time because UAB insisted on their games being played in Bartow Arena and Auburn was insisting they be played at the BJCC.
