Pearl will get it there if he sticks with it. I think the only question is if he will stay over the long haul.
And don't read too much into this game. New Mexico is not that good - they lost to a horrible Rice team.

Pearl seems like a lifer kind of guy. He's building something real here and AU has shown its commitment going forward to basketball with the new arena and facilities. If not for the NCAA stuff he'd still be at Tennessee. The real blue blood jobs that'd be worth it only open up so often, and he doesn't seem like a guy that'd go out west or to the NBA

Indiana could be a possibility if they fire creen... but with his ncaa history, would he be a serious candidate there (considering the mess IU made hiring Sampson)?
Jacobs showed some guts by hiring pearl.... if auburn makes a change at AD, pearl might lose an ally.

That was Illinois, but from working in Indiana I can tell you that Pearl isn't very highly thought of in that state either

Pearl is a good coach. Auburn is hard as hell to win at for multiple reasons. /end of story
