Figured it wouldn't take Bruce very long to get up and running at Auburn. Pearl is now 18-2 overall and has the Tigers playing extremely well. He reminds me of Bobby Petrino. Can be a loose cannon at times, but man can he flat out coach and motivate. Anxious to see how we match up with them on Saturday in Auburn, Alabama.

And if he doesn't come clean they may still have to fire him

He's in his 4th season. In college basketball that kinda is 'taking a long time'.

If he wasn't winning right now he'd already be canned, putting Auburn into quite the predicament if they do need to get rid of him season's end

I was going to say, he's been there plenty long enough. 4 years is an eternity in college basketball

It'll be 0-20 once the NCAA is done.

This.

It's his first season where it doesn't appear Auburn will finish in the bottom 4 of the SEC. Plus he had one of his top assistants fired after being arrested after a FBI investigation (who knows if there will be any future fall out from that).

The guy can definitely coach, but this hasn't been a remarkably quick turnaround

He wouldnt have lasted a year at LSU...First year if he had a losing season, our "fans" would be calling for his head...not that he would have been hired in the first place...

In all fairness to BP, he did take over at Auburn and is doing this.

That would be a long time at a top 25 or so program. At Auburn, he's probably ahead of schedule.

He can motivate, not really coach.

I'm sorry, but that's objectively not true. Until he got to Auburn he had NEVER had a losing season in 19 years has a head coach. You don't do that by just being a "motivator." He won a NCAA D-II National Title and played for another one. He made the NCAAT twice in 4 years at UW-Milwaukee and brought them to the Sweet 16 his final season there. In 6 years at Tenn. he only finished lower than 3rd in the conf. twice.

To have that kind of success at 4 different schools over a 23 year coaching career isn't just a fluke. He may be a strong motivator as well, but the guy can coach.

You seem butthutt that LSU canned some truly horrible basketball coaches and hired the first legitimate coach in years.

Feel like this is a game where size wise we actually match up well (Auburn ain't huge inside)... But if we can't guard the perimeter we're in some deep shite

I mean it is year 4. If he wasn't going to get it done this year, he never was. They were dreadful his first 2 seasons and just ok last year. In basketball, 4 years isn't turning things around quickly.
