the only thing that's pathetic is that comparison. Hell why don't we just compare Pinkel to Sandusky, they both broke the law, Petrino didn't.

See how fricking stupid that sounds.

fwiw, its asinine to consider that Petrino may even almost be a possibility but I can understand why. First real taste of consistent success in a LONG time.

you have to remember this is the state that produced Bill Clinton. He lied and cheated and kept a Presidency, folks assume Petrino should do the same. What they don't factor in is the lying to your boss aspect, which Clinton never had to deal with, he just lied to the public.

Clinton was a charming, likeable guy. Petrino the polar opposite.

I think he's a fine offensive coach and I really never had a problem with him. I mean, I don't know the guy personally. But I thought the way he acted against LSU was kinda bitch-like last season.

Clinton lied to the whole country AND you would have initially lied too in the same situation as petrino with your family on the line.

After reading some of the comments on that page, I don't know whether to laugh at or weep over select members of our fan base.

On the bright side, none of my FB friends have liked it...yet!

I'm not talking about his personal life, I could give a frick about that. I'm talking about his job and he lied to his boss, repeatedly. That's grounds for termination, period. And if you say it's not then you have no self-respect.

Boss should have not let him have so much control on that hire...not saying it was right by any means by Jeff Long is not the saint you all make him out to be.

I've never called Jeff Long a Saint, that was evident when he lured Petrino away from the Falcons in the middle of a season.

That was the boldest best move he's made yet...but he was going to settle for Grobe until Petrino's agent called.

I don't support the rehiring of Petrino, but GTFO comparing those who do with Penn State fans. Covering up child molestation is completely different than giving your mistress a promotion.

I was not comparing the two as per how "bad" they were as individuals or even what they did wrong is anyway equal. What I was comparing was the fact that many Hog Fans are willing to win at any cost and support their coach blindly regardless of what he did or does. This is not the same as saying covering up child molestation is the same as fricking your subordinates and getting them jobs. But for a segment of fans to want him back is a similar response to fans at Penn State that think Joe Pa is a fricking saint. Supporting a coach who wins over what is right and wrong is comparable though. Hell I give Hog fans credit as the great majority think Bobby should have been fired. Unfortunately for months I hear clowns on the radio talking about how we need Bobby back or he should not have been fired. Every fan base has fans like that so this is not endemic to U of A.

Sure Pinkel got a DUI. Drunk drivers piss me off I have too many friends and ex-students whose lives have been wrecked by drunk drivers. Fact is though that our society still does not treat them as harsh as they deserve. Paterno covered up child molestation and that is by far the worst offense here. I think Pinkel did something way worse then Petrino legally and morally. I would though argue that Petrino had an much more fire able offense as his indiscretion was not illegal but did effect the program more. So we all understand Paterno the worst morally & for the program. Pinkel worse then Petrino morally but not in his negative effects on his school.
