Less than half of his defenses at LSU were top 10. That was with more talent than everyone in the country sans Bama in that time.

Why are we debating with Aggy over Brick? Brick is on his way to the 40 acres and not a s-hole like CS...win for Brick. Aggy is winless against LSU in the last 4 attempts...win for LSU...

Chavis was a good coach, no doubt. But some of you Aggies expecting miracle work in 1 year will be up for a rude awakening. There is no doubt in anyone's mind next year LSU's defense will still be vastly better than A&M's; you guys need good DBs and LBs in a bad way, and you just aren't there right now. Chavis had the luxury of GREAT DB play at LSU every year he was here including top notch DL play mostly too. I think you got the talent on the DL for the most part, but beyond that it's severely lacking. If he's going to produce there it's a 2, likely 3 year rebuild job at minimum. At any rate, his defenses at A&M will never reach the levels he had at LSU for 2 simple facts - he had a lot more talent/depth to work with here and he had an offense that DID NOT keep his defense out on the field the majority of games.
