Well, clearly not, considering I thought the other coordinator hire last year was a home run.

He's good at recruiting kids over the phone from his previous teams locker room though, so there's that.

I think it still will be. Supposedly Willie Martinez, Stripling and possibly Thigpen could all be gone to let Shoop hire his own coaches.

Yea, I don't think he should be totally judged on this year alone. Doubt he forgot how to coach defense, though Butch does have some mysterious powers.

I'd send Butch packing for him right now. Sadly, will never, ever happen.

Hmm, maybe VOLS would be the perfect spot for Chip next annum since we would have his right hand man already in place

Chip could easily get a head coaching job in college. I am not sure if he would want to spend a year or two as an oc. Worth a shot, I guess. You never know until you ask.
I only watched a few UT games, but it seemed to me the UT defense was a bigger problem than the UT offense. What do you guys who watched every game think?

So this will be 3 OCs for Butch in 5 years & on 2nd DC. Better hope it works coaches don't typically get to hire that many coordinators before getting the axe themselves.

Acting like he had no impact on him is retarded.

Bart Hendricks was Big West player of the year 2x with Helfrich as QB coach.

Andrew Walter broke John Elways PAC 10 TD record and everybody ASU passing record under Helfrich.

Masoli and Darron Thomas both had a lot of success under Helfrich, as well as obviously Mariota.

For a team that hasn't even had a QB coach the past 4 seasons, this is a huge upgrade

Did Helfrich ever actually call plays at Oregon?
