Kentucky is in this weird place where I can just as easily see them winning most of their remaining games as I can see them losing them. Last night was ugly, but potential is definitely there.
It's not a fun place as a fan either.
In all seriousness, I think most feel the same. They could still win a bunch or they could lay an egg. I will at least concede that in most years UK loses that game last night.

With one SEC loss, a close one with aTm, a game in which they dominated for 3.5 quarters at that, Arkansas is still a "contender"
What's the difference?

Both leagues are still wide open......

Toledo
Of course, I would have said the same thing about Indiana last year...
I am still struggling to find 6 wins on your schedule at this point

And Kentucky needed overtime to beat Eastern Kentucky.
Neither team is a "contender" this year.

We have a chance to get to 6. 7 would be stretching it. Of course to do that we will have to beat 1 of Alabama ole miss or LSU. Didn't see us beating ole miss or LSU last year either. We can beat miss state, auburn, and Mizzou along with our last OOC game. Will we, who knows
Just don't see using that contender logic for kentucky

I would put Alabama ahead of LSU at this point for a couple of reasons, but it doesn't take away the fact that Alabama still has a few weaknesses too, but they are looking stronger. I think LSU and aTm will be a great game. Honestly, I really don't know what to make of LSU (no joke). They always seem to play to the level of competition most times.
UF - I still want to "wait and see". OM has some weaknesses and UF took full advantage of those (great coaching last night, and seems they've got enough solid talent). I'd say UF is a contender at this point, though, if I had to guess. But many people were inking them in for Atlanta, and it's too soon to tell.
I didn't say it before, but I felt Arkansas at some point would get their stuff together and make a little or a lot of noise. LSU will have a tough time with Arky.
Also, Georgia.... if they had a great or elite coach, with all the in-state talent they have, they'd probably be a powerhouse. UGA would do good to cut ties with CMR and get a better HC.

You got destroyed yesterday. You can add yourself into the "wut" category as well.

Really?
All they have to do is beat us and hope that LSU one one of - UGA/Mizzou can find a way to take down the Gators
That looks a lot more realistic than any hope/prayer/chance that the Razorbacks have.
Yes, you are still alive and in contention, but you are really in more danger of missing a bowl than winning the SEC West

Why are Arkansas fans so sensitive about anyone giving kudos to UK?
It's rather unbecoming of you.

leaving Mizzou in there just because they won the last 2

I wouldn't drink the Alabama Kool Aid just yet. Look past the final scores the last two weeks. Saban freaked out after throwing at 59 times against Ole Miss and turning it over five times. Now he is trying to establish a team identity by running the ball. However, they are only 3 for 25 on third down the past two games.

No Arkansas fans care if Kentucky gets props, you guys have played better than most expected.
What I was questioning is the logic used by the UGA fan. There are many teams you could use the same logic for.
If you want to use Kentucky's schedule that's cool, just actually type that out as a reason and not that they only have one loss in conference

I'd think that'd be an assumed point given UK is in the East and Arkansas is in the West. At least that's what I assumed he meant when he said it.

I don't think that assumption holds true this year. So far, the college landscape has seen upsets, close games, and OT wins by teams you would think would crush the competition. Kentucky had one last night. Of course the game was closer than the fan base wanted it to be, but the team found a way to win.
Really strange football season this year where the favorites just needs to survive and move on. I guess there is more parity than what some thinks. Eastern Kentucky has some SEC talent transfers on their roster too, so they are far from a pushover.

Same was said about Jacksonville State. Yet an undefeated Toledo team gets zero credit.
It was by far and away the worst loss ever for an SEC team in the history of sports

It was pretty obvious last night that guys were sleepwalking with that Thursday night game with Auburn coming up in a week and a half. They were bound to have a letdown game riding high after the close game with UF and the win over Mizzou.
But it is what it is. They're sitting at 4-1 with the only conference loss to the team that will likely win their division. If Florida slips up and UK keeps winning they're still right there at this point and they have UGA, Tennessee, Auburn, and Vandy left on the schedule (with Charlotte and Louisville in the OOC).

This is probably more a product of the trolling some of our fans choose to constantly engage in on here. No one outside of the SECr is seriously going to try and argue that those teams are better than Toledo.

the reality is t y'all just have to find ONE WIN and you get a bowl (Charlotte is a gimmie)
And you have the easiest road of any other "contender"
