If AJ got 4 fricking games for one jersey, the NCAA better come down on manziel

Based on what?

Allegations? Lets see something that sticks first. Then we hang him

I doubt JFF was stupid enough to deposit a 5 figure check into his account.

If he did, it proves he is not SEC worthy

the NCAA will drag its feet on this one and hope it all just goes away. The NCAA knows JFF is a dynamic money draw and will do nothing swiftly - again, nothing will come of this. This is all just white noise.

So if you're aTm...do you play him and risk all games he plays in? Not that easy of a decision for the coach. Also, now that this is a big story, the IRS will want to investigate the exchange of money. This is where it might get sticky for Manziel. If he lies, this problem will only get much worse. Remember that the feds put Martha friggin Stewart in jail and that was mostly because she lied.

manziel has a personal assistant? are you kidding me? i bet a dollar to a donut that manziel doesn't do his own classwork. this dude is unbelievable. too many precedents being set; i am 100% against allowing players to take all online courses. why even call him a student?

Agreed. I still think THIS is the biggest problem with JFF, not the signature money, the acting out or the publicity whoring he does. The fact that they allowed him to take only online classes is just shite. No way he is writing his own papers and there would be no way to prove it unless the writers basically decided to hell with it and I'm sure he is paying them well enough to prevent that from every happening.

I think we will run our own internal investigation, find out what the NCAA has and make a determination prior to the first game. If he plays in game one then I feel pretty confident that nothing will come of it. If I see JFF sharing snaps with the ones during fall practice, then there is something happening and I think he is probably gone. In other words, I will get a better sens out of what is happening with the story based upon how the AD handles it than what I hear in the news or what the NCAA says.

Quit it with the bama player references. It's not hard to get a car loan.

Sure...anyone without a job can walk right into a car dealership and get a loan for a brand new car. But most loans that I've seen have a payment attached. Where do they get the money to make the payments?

I mean what are you going to do? He's allowed to register for whatever classes he wants.

Love how the A&M fans have gone from "He did nothing wrong!" to "They'll never be able to prove anything!"

Right now it's an investigation, everybody knows plenty of times investigations don't turn up anything, so why should A&M or Sumlin take an extreme reaction right now and suspend him? This is how any investigation goes, but because it's Manziel, and so many people hate him, they just want to see the kid burn before the actual process plays out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's still innocent before PROVEN guilty correct?

they shouldn't suspend him, but I would think twice about playing him, if this isn't resolved by gameday

I would suspend him for the first two games (not from football-related activities) just for cover then not worry about it anymore. Let him play the rest of the year. At least they will look like they were being diligent in trying to keep a clean program even though they can't be held accountable directly for this. I would think the NCAA would accept this punishment and not continue to waste too many resources on an investigation.

if they suspended him, they would need a reason, which would be admitting guilt and would need to be able to prove reinstatement with the NCAA.

Every student at A&M is allowed to do that if they so please. But don't let facts get in the way of your ranting.

It would be nice if the people whining about the alleged wrongdoing at Alabama would post their proof or at least start a thread on it.

It's done. Over. The Manziel allegations are the subject of this thread.

Are we really arguing over whether or not you can talk trash about Bama??? It gets really cult-y in Alabama, right? Like you guys all understand the only thing you can do as fans is to cover up the cheating. You assume it's going to continue like it has for the duration of y'all's programs, and you're paranoid that the other guy's gonna turn you in, so you fight that instead of the issue. ALL IN!!!
