If he's forced to put up numbers, Arkansas doesn't take that next step. The Hogs are at their best if they pound the ball and get game management out of Allen.

I've been a little skeptical of Allen since he was still in high school. He has everything needed to be a great QB, except for the required mental state. Late last year he overcame that hurdle, so I'm excited to see what he'll do this year.
Also, I don't think Chaney was a good QB coach and every good QB has a good QB coach. Enos seems to be a good QB coach, so that bodes very well for Allen.

The edge rush Arkansas will be facing this year will do him in.
Fat is good at guard. Not so much at tackle.
Nice weakness to exploit there.
CBB seems pretty stubborn when it comes to size.
You can actually be too big/fat coach.
Yep... Cause if there one thing Bielema and Sam Pittman don't know its O-Linemen.
And btw, all our O-Linemen have lost weight this year.

But Drew Brees!

Chaney flat out wasn't a QB coach.
I bitched about the lack of QB coach on our staff for 2 years.
Bert went out at got a HC that had a great track record of developing QB's and was a pretty good Big 10 QB himself.

LOL. Why so sensitive?
No need to ride anyone, Auburn has yet to lose to Arky under Bert (although to be fair most SEC teams fall in this category).
You said Allen was the most proven qb. He has a longer resume than Johnson, granted, but you are nuts to think he is more proven than Dak.
Dak proved himself pretty well all year.
Sorry but I doubt even most Arky fans on here would agree he is the most proven qb.
He may turn into the most improved, but that is a far different statement.

Keep clinging to that 2 year winning streak

Better than a two game losing streak.
Do you also think B Allen is the most proven qb in the SEC?

Not at all, but he is easily top 5 in the conference

That title goes to Dak and it's not even close.
The two guys that can/will challenge him are Dobbs and Johnson.
Kyle Allen and the UK kid to a lesser extent.
Mauk and Brandon Allen on the outside looking in.
Nobody else in the SEC even knows who they'll trot out.

I do agree that he could be, especially with the way that Oline and rb game might turn out. I think that is premature to assume he will be if we look at his last two years.
Again, my only issue was the rather absurd comment he is the most proven qb.

That he can take care of the ball and make the right decision the majority of the time.
20 TDs 5 INTs
You know exactly what you are going to get with Allen, the others on the list not so much, hence the most proven.

He had a bad completion % last year but his TD to Int ratio was pretty incredible. Arkansas will have a deep threat this year and it will open up the field. His % will go up
Posted on 7/18/15 at 6:28 pm to CtotheVrzrbck
All I know is he'll be better than every QB on the LSU roster.

Again, I could see that happening just not sold on it. Just do not think he is the most proven qb by any stretch.

This x1000.
I almost feel bad for Tiger fans.
LSU would kill for a short, noodle armed, game manager at this point.

Sad to watch Auburn fans dick ride Ms. State, but when your coach can't develop a QB that is what you do, I guess.
Unless you are an LSU fan then you live in a state of denial with never ending reasons as to why your "5*" QB is consistently the worst in the league.
Right because Cam Newton isn't in the NFL setting records, going to pro bowls, playoffs and such. Would you like to know who his QB coach was? Gus Malzahn.
And don't give me that "all natural talent excuse" to downplay what Gus did with Cam.
At Blinn against inferior competition Cam only completed 61% of his passes for 2833 yards. He had 22 pass TD's and 16 rush TD's for 655 rushing yardage.
At Auburn against stronger competition Gus improved every last one of those stats. He completed 66.1% of his passes for 2854 yards. He had 30 pass TD's. He had 20 TD's rushing for 1473 yards.
So you were saying?

His receivers have been shite the past two years, it was the weakest position on the roster after Petrino, who left plenty of weak positions to address.
This year he will have viable options on the field outside of HH, the route tree will also be less vertical and more to Allen and the WRs on the roster's strengths.
We haven't seen a crossing pattern ran on the field in two years.
