Barring injury, this coming season is setting up nicely for Brandon Allen to finally be more than a mediocre QB.
The OL will have some talent and a bit if depth. The RB's will take the focus of the Defenses. If Jeremy Sprinkle can hold on to balls we'll have 2-3 options at TE past Hunter Henry, one if the best in the country. Our WR corp has been an Achilles heel, we've got some fresh hands w/ speed that should give us more options in stretching the field and working play action to greater successes.
Last season it seemed the only time we got people open deep is when the D was cheating safeties against the run and we'd slip Hatcher or a TE deep after releasing from a block
New OC Dan Enos is a great QB coach. He'll use Allen's ability to run and short game accuracy unlike Chaney or Tardtrino. BA is a smart QB I expect an impressive TD to Int ratio again.
Everyone is sleeping on Allen, but he'll run the offense like he's asked and be efficient. He'll be the difference between a 7 win season and a possible 10 win season (w/ bowl game). Don't be surprised when you're asking yourself where did THIS Brandon Allen come from.

Most proven QB in the SEC going into this season.

Pass the pipe champ.
If you're name isn't Prescott, Dobbs or Johnson you have no shot.

So a RB, a Mutant, and Hype.
Proven Success will prevail.

I could see him being pretty good and fairly efficient. But without the super-impressive numbers.
And still I look at that Arky schedule and see at least four losses. It's tough and Arkansas has not risen to the occasion in our lifetimes, so...

My two year old son throws his toys with more velocity than Brandon Allen throws a football.
The edge rush Arkansas will be facing this year will do him in.
Fat is good at guard. Not so much at tackle.
Nice weakness to exploit there.
CBB seems pretty stubborn when it comes to size.
You can actually be too big/fat coach.

No one gives enough fricks to melt about Arkansas. Well, except LSU but they melt over everything.

I think I'd actually take Allen over Mauk.
Shows how low my opinion of that Favre wannabe is.

This is a thread about the SEC's best QB, not RBs in direct snap offenses.

A few seconds later, what looked like a broken play turned into a 69-yard touchdown heave to a wide open Fred Ross, and the top-ranked Bulldogs had their go-ahead touchdown in a 17-10 victory over Arkansas on Saturday night.
Prescott threw for a career-high 331 yards and a touchdown to help Mississippi State (8-0, 5-0 Southeastern Conference, No. 1 CFP) claw out of an early 10-0 hole and win its 11th straight game dating to last season.

Sad to watch Auburn fans dick ride Ms. State, but when your coach can't develop a QB that is what you do, I guess.
Unless you are an LSU fan then you live in a state of denial with never ending reasons as to why your "5*" QB is consistently the worst in the league.
