As far as Herman goes, he's the opposite of aTm, he is a winner that welcomes a challenge such as the SEC west.

No, he is a smart man who bailed on USCe when they lost to Citadel and that rebuild looked like too big of a project.

But please put all your hope in the Herman basket. The melt will be glorious.

I don't think Herman is scared of Saban. Wasn't Herman the offensive coordinator at OSU when they beat Bama in the playoffs?

He didn't CHOOSE to play Saban that year. He picked working for Ohio St, aka a program that is the Bama of its conference.

Big difference.

When Saban does retire, the tears and heart attacks from Bama fans basing their whole life happiness around the success of their football program will make this all worth it

This is fricking rich coming from a fan of a team that has an entire fan base calling for the firing of their head coach because their upstate rival and daddy Nick Saban has won 4 of the last 7 national championships of college football and they can only wish/dream of that same kind of success.

You're scared, bitch. Just admit it. Your team can't even beat LSU with Miles as the coach, that speaks volumes.

Many heart attacks and murders to follow. Saban's getting tired.

Talent level available is excellent.

Lol no.

Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame.

I'd put you somewhere in the next five.

Jesus you are a moron. On one hand you admit the former coach always beat A&M, and then you think i am supposed to be scared of the next one?

From the Aggy standpoint nothing was worse than Les Miles. Today is a good day for us.

Just remember, Texas had to settle for their 4th-5th pick because they got too big for their britches and their AD fricked it up.

Not true, Mack Brown fricked it up, he got his lawyer friend Joe Jamail to threaten the Univ of Texas AD with a lawsuit, gumming it up enough to scare off Saban.

Mack Brown ended up getting a bigger severance than contractually allowed because of the threat of said lawsuit.

And the governor fricked it up for LSU last year and made them fire Les a year too late.

The parallels abound.

While LSU may not be as good of a job as Texas, it's definitely better than ND

This is just utter stupidity. Did you just start watching college football in the last couple of years? Do yourself a favor...go google Lardass's 10 year, $50M contract in 2005, put it in 2016 dollars, then come back and say with a straight face that LSU would be willing to pay as much.

Then look at where ND recruits. I'll save you the trouble. LSU's recruiting territory? That's also ND's territory...then add every other square inch of land in the United States.

Combine that with the fact that ND has a stable administration, a truly national following, and by far an easier path to the CFP.

The notion that LSU is as good a job is pure stupidity.

USC, Texas, Notre Dame

Bad year to hire a coach

Notre Dame is not an easy job to hire a coach for. The old days are gone. Academic requirements have absolutely gutted that program.

Texas may not be hiring at all they're showing signs of life for the first time in what seems like forever.

USC.. well, honestly they could hire Les Miles and destroy the Pac12 There's a lot of politics involved at USC and some coaches aren't cut out for it... but USC is a big big opening.

Michigan, no
Notre Dame, hell no.

We have better facilities and talent than both of those and it isn't close.

The LUS fans certainly seem to think they do, though.

True, but what we know of the guy he bailed on USCe when they lost to Citadel. That implies he isn't a guy who is willing to take Nick head on, not when a soft PAC 12 is sitting there's ready to be raped.

What about the report from 247sports that Herman was highly interested in the Georgia job before they hired Smart? If that report is true, Herman likely turned down South Carolina because he was waiting for a better job to open up.
