Man, LSU fans making Blake Baker out to be Bill Belichick on defense. I loved having Blake call the defense cause he’s young with great energy but his defense definitely wasn’t perfect.
To make him the highest paid assistant is crazy and it’s obvious we wanted to keep him since we matched the offer but his family ties(Wife is an LSU alumn and whole family is there), his personal ties(played LB at Tulane) and the ability to get elite talent to turn around an absolute shite storm of a unit outweighed head coaching jobs even(he reportedly turnt down multiple this off-season).
However, our defense was GOD AWFUL at getting off the field on 3rd and 4th down scenarios. We now have an insane budget for a DC. It appears on Twitter that our defense is staying intact and that’s the most important part.
All these threads are bookmark material though. Could you imagine paying that money for a shite defense? The pressure that’s going to come with this job is a lot and I wish Blake Baker well. I wanted him to stay but he is inheriting literal shite and is expected to have gold out there. Good luck to both Blake Baker and LSU.

Hey, if you want to make up bullshite we both can.
OSU was without 3 starter and Mizzou was without 3 starters. That game should’ve easily been 28-3 without being awarded 1st and goal in a fumble recovery and mercy knee’d.
A Cotton Bowl victory is a much larger reason to celebrate than paying a coach the highest assistant salary in the country anyways.
